Million Dollar Musings: MLB DFS Picks Today for Tuesday 5/12

Whether you are looking for the top pitchers or the best stacks, Dave Potts (aka CheeseIsGood) has you covered with an extensive deep dive into his MLB DFS picks today. Cheese, one of the preeminent baseball minds in all of fantasy sports and a winner of a $1,000,000 1st-place prize on both DraftKings and FanDuel, is here to give you his musings on the May 12, 2026 MLB DFS slate.
Happy Tuesday! We have a 10-game slate that appears to have a whole bunch of everything at first glance. We should have at least a few pitching options in different pricing tiers and high-end offense that is spread out all over the place. I’ll do my best to narrow it down to a few favorites, but that may be easier said than done on the hitting side. Let’s dive right in and see what happens.
Tuesday Pitching: MLB DFS Picks on DraftKings and FanDuel

It kind of looks like a deep top tier, but there are a lot of question marks with the way most of these guys have been pitching this season:
TOP TIER PITCHING
- Yoshinobu Yamamoto vs. Giants – 28.2% K, 8.1% BB, 2.61 ERA, 3.37 SIERA
- Shane McClanahan at Blue Jays – 24.1% K, 9.9% BB, 2.60 ERA, 3.97 SIERA
- Freddy Peralta vs. Tigers – 27.2% K, 9.3% BB, 2.78 ERA, 3.74 SIERA
- Bryan Woo at Astros – 25.7% K, 4.8% BB, 3.16 ERA, 3.43 SIERA
- MacKenzie Gore vs. Diamondbacks – 27.2% K, 9.9% BB, 4.37 ERA, 3.82 SIERA
- Jeffrey Springs vs. Cardinals – 19.8% K, 7.4% BB, 4.06 ERA, 4.48 SIERA
- Eury Perez at Twins – 26.5% K, 9.3% BB, 4.48 ERA, 3.92 SIERA
Yoshinobu Yamamoto hasn’t been quite as consistent this season and hasn’t shown quite the same ceiling, but to me, this still looks like the clear SP1 on this slate. He has reached 6+ innings in 6 of 7 starts and has yet to allow more than 3 runs in a game. While he is only at a 23.5% K rate so far, the walks are still low, and he has 7-8 strikeouts in 3 of his last 4 games. He also has a slightly higher swinging-strike rate and Stuff+ than last season, so I have no concerns here at all. Plus, while the Giants finally hit some baseballs last night, this is one of the weakest lineups in the league this season. He is at the highest salary on both sites, so let’s see what else we find before deciding how much to prioritize him.
Shane McClanahan has rounded back into form nicely with three straight scoreless outings. He is still not all the way back to his pre-injury velocity or Stuff+ numbers, but he’s at a solid level, and his current 24.1% K rate looks sustainable. Hopefully, at some point, he can get back to his even better previous strikeout numbers, but until we see it, I’m assuming that this is what we are getting. As great as the last three starts have been, he’s had all the luck in the world on batted balls, and they are still treating him cautiously with the pitch count. As much as I love seeing him pitching well, he’s not going to make my pool tonight as the 2nd-highest-priced pitcher on both sites.
