Happy Thursday everyone! More importantly, Happy Halloween!

As most of you know, I only have one kid. He just turned 9 years old and wanted to be an astronaut for Halloween. We ordered his costume on Amazon, but the shipping got delayed, and it wasn’t going to make it in time for trick-or-treating. We were about to go to the store when my girlfriend (am I crazy, or does girlfriend sound a little juvenile?) said she still had her son’s Harry Potter costume from last year. Her son is 10 years old and is also a single child. Despite having completely opposite personalities, these two boys have been inseparable since they met. Not only that, but they get along so well with each other’s cousins and friends. It’s like they’ve known each other forever.

It’s funny because that’s how I feel about the special lady I’m dating. It sounds cliche, but it’s like we have always known each other. It’s hard to remember much of my time before meeting her (although I can still quote just about any sports stat from any time period). But unlike the boys, we have nearly identical personalities. Sorry, I’m getting on a tangent here; let’s get back to the story. When my son heard about the Harry Potter costume, he considered it but wasn’t ready to finalize the decision. Once I told him that his new friend/potential stepbrother was also dressing up as Harry Potter, he was all for it. It was fun watching him dress up and do his costume parade at school this morning. On the personal front, things have never been better.

On the DFS front, LaMelo Ball wrecked what could have been a very good night. I was going back and forth between Ball and Trae Young in my main lineup. The difference ended up being about 30 fantasy points. Despite the little fire icon next to almost every one of my players, I didn’t come near the cash line due to the high-scoring slate. We have a much smaller slate on tap for Halloween, as there are only 4 games on the schedule. Three of the eight teams in action are playing on the second half of a back-to-back.

Congrats to the Dodgers on winning the World Series last night. Let’s hope for more treats than tricks on tonight’s NBA slate. Let’s dive into the games.

Team Previews

Milwaukee Bucks (at MEM)

With Khris Middleton out to start the season, Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo have combined for 63% of the usage in this offense. Despite shooting 62% from the field, Giannis has only averaged 53 fantasy points per game. There hasn’t been much of a dip in scoring, and he’s averaging 10.8 rebounds per contest, but the blocks and steals have dried up. I’m not concerned in the slightest. Lillard has been solid all season. Both are viable spends against the Grizzlies, who are 4th in pace and 27th in defensive rating this season. Given the salary cap restraints, I find myself getting to Lillard more often than Giannis.
