Tuttle’s Take On The Odds

The spotlight will be following an Astros roster throughout the season as they look to win games without ace Gerrit Cole and without the aid of banging trash cans. While it’s fair to wonder if Houston’s offense will regress without the help of technology to steal signs, the reality is it’s unlikely we see significant offensive regression as their lineup is still stacked with talent. With the departure of Gerrit Cole, the Astros rotation is where all the question marks are, including who will actually be their fifth starter. The delayed start of the season does seem to benefit Houston’s pitching staff in some regard as it will give Justin Verlander a chance to be ready for Opening Day after undergoing groin surgery.
