What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 8
- Favored Team – ATL (-220)
Pitcher Grind Down
- Lannan is a heavy dog in Atlanta and that’s probably with good reason. His 7.54 ERA away from Home is certainly not inspiring anyone. Avoid.
- Beachy tossed an absolute gem against the Marlins last time out and was ok in his 2nd start of the year against these same Phillies. He’s at home today though and a huge favorite. The Phillies are a sinking ship and I like Beachy to be one of the better pitching options tonight.
Batter Grind Down
- The Braves are hot and Lannan is allowing righties to hit .288 against. I’d be looking to get Simmons, Gattis, Johnson, the Upton Bros, etc in your lineup tonight. Braves righties should be used at will.
- Outside of Dom Brown, I don’t really like any of the Phillies bats. Like I mentioned, I’m a fan of Beachy tonight.

What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 8.5
- Favored Team – TEX (-230)
Pitcher Grind Down
- Tyler Thornburg thank you.
- Garza is a solid pitching option tonight despite the high over under. He can K a ton and is another monster favorite tonight. I think that line indicates more that they expect Texas to score a bunch this evening. Also, in his only start against the Brew Crew this season he went 7 IP and struck out 10 batters. If he can give you that again, you’re in business.
Batter Grind Down
- Avoiding all Milwaukee bats. I see this being a one-sided affair.
- Thornburg actually doesn’t have bad splits against lefties or righties but I’ll rely on that high vegas O/U and the heavy moneyline towards the Rangers to tell me that something doesn’t smell right. Any of the Rangers bats are in play and a guys like Profar and Martin are great values who both his MUCH better vs. Righties and at home.

PIT vs R | PIT BvP | STL vs L | STL BvP
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 7
- Favored Team – STL (-120)
Pitcher Grind Down
- This is gonna be an awesome pitcher’s duel. Unfortunately if you need the win from your SP, I can’t really help you. It should be low scoring but Liriano went 7 IP and struck out 8 in his only start against the Cards this season. He’s been great all year and is absolutely an option, especially in GPPs.
- Miller left his last start after just one batter and cost me my chance to move on in the SS Streak. Ok now that I got that out of the way, he’s been solid at home but the likelihood of him going beyond the 5th inning just isn’t very high. The Cards are playing it safe with him and won’t extend him too long. I’d avoid just because of the low ceiling for longevity tonight.
Batter Grind Down
- Just avoid the bats in this game. I don’t really love any of them.

HOU vs R | HOU BvP | OAK vs R | OAK BvP
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 7.5
- Favored Team – OAK (-240)
Pitcher Grind Down
- Our 5th lopsided moneyline favors Jarrod Parker and the A’s tonight. Parker, unlike most of the A’s starters, has actually been better on the road this year. He has back to back strong starts though and I like his chances against an Astros team against whom he already has one quality start this season.
- Cosart is an unbelievably talented young player who has what I like to call “Felix Doubront Syndrome”. He is too picky with his location and throws too many pitches to get out of innings while putting a lot of guys on base via the walk. I’d avoid against a well-coached A’s lineup.
Batter Grind Down
- Cosart has been nearly unhittable against righties since being called up but lefties have had some mild success. Don’t be afraid to plug Lowrie and Crisp (if he plays) into your lineups. I’d avoid Reddick tonight though. He’s swing happy which doesn’t bode well against a pitcher who can be exploited with patience.
- Parker has allowed 10 HRs to lefties so Wallace, Krauss and Castro are all sound options. I don’t see the total runs in this game being below that 7.5 line and tend to like some of Houston’s bats for value on most nights. Parker isn’t a stud SP, so don’t shy away from HOU.

NYM vs L | NYM BvP | LAD vs R | LAD BvP
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 7.0
- Favored Team – LAD (-180)
Pitcher Grind Down
- I suppose I could talk myself into Capuano based on the heavy odds in his favor and the low over/under. But he has 2 negative FP performances in his last 4 games (with 2 very strong starts sandwiched between) so I just never know which Capuano will show up. I know he’s been much worse at home though which makes him an avoid overall.
- Gee has been a train wreck away from the safe haven that is Citi Field this season. His 5.43 road ERA tell me to avoid him at all costs.
Batter Grind Down
- I actually really like a couple of the Mets bats for value tonight. Eric Young and Juan Lagares both hit lefties well and have been better of late. Capuano is allowing righties to hit .300 against him with an .834 OPS so don’t be afraid to plug a few right handed bats from NYM onto your squads.
- Gee has struggled against lefties, allowing 11 HR with a .292 BA-A and .844 OPS-A. Adrian Gonzalez, Carl Crawford and any other Dodgers lefties I’m forgetting are terrific plays tonight. If you are searching for value, try Dee Gordon who has been solid lately and can get on base and swipe bags to add to his totals.
