Pitcher Grind Down
- Gio Gonzalez – Gonzalez has pitched well this season with a 3.86 ERA and a K/9 of 9.4. He gives up quite a few walks though (3.6 batters per 9 innings) and draws a tough matchup against a very talented Dodgers offense. Even though the Dodgers don’t hit LH pitching well as a team, Puig, Ramirez, Kemp, and Van Slyke all hit lefties very well. I think Gio is a bit overpriced for this matchup. Rating = 6
Salaries: $8600 FD, $15050 DD, $8800 DK, $NA FF, $19800 SS, $15550 FTD
- Roberto Hernandez – Hernandez is not a great fantasy option. He owns an average ERA (3.81) and a low strikeout rate (5.6 per 9). He draws a tough matchup against the Nationals who have the 4th best offense in baseball over the last 30 days. Avoid Hernandez in all leagues. Rating = 4
Salaries: $6000 FD, $12000 DD, $6700 DK, $ FF, $14600 SS, $11900 FTD

Washington
Bryce Harper – Harper had his first multi-HR game of the season yesterday and will look to add to it today as he faces Hernandez who has really struggled with LH hitters throughout his career.
Additional Plays: Anthony Rendon, Adam LaRoche
LA Dodgers
Scott Van Slyke – Van Slyke is always one of the more popular value plays when he’s facing a southpaw. Not only does he have a wOBA over .400 against lefties, but he’s also extremely cheap because he’s not an every day player.
Additional Plays: Matt Kemp, Hanley Ramirez, Yasiel Puig

Pitcher Grind Down
- Colby Lewis – Lewis is coming off of his best month of the season, but he still owns a 5.44 ERA. He has been far off the fantasy radar all season long and there’s no reason for that to change as he faces a very tough Royals offense that strikes out fewer times than team in baseball. Rating = 4
Salaries: $6900 FD, $10750 DD, $5900 DK, $NA FF, $13000 SS, $10800 FTD
- Yordano Ventura – Ventura has one of the best fastballs in baseball. His strikeouts have been very up and down this season, but he’s trending in the right direction with 23 K’s over his last 4 starts. He draws a great matchup against the Rangers who are ranked 24th in wOBA vs. RH pitching. Rating = 7.5
Salaries: $7700 FD, $14450 DD, $7500 DK, $ FF, $19300 SS, $14300 FTD
Batter Grind Down
Texas
Avoid all hitters against Ventura.
Kansas City
Alex Gordon – Gordon hit another HR last night. He’s really locked in right now and gets a terrific matchup against Lewis who has given up a .396 wOBA to LH hitters this season.
Additional Plays: Salvador Perez
