Pitcher Grind Down
- James Paxton – Paxton has been really good since rejoining the rotation in August. He has not allowed more than 2 earned runs in those 5 starts and now gets to take on the awful Rangers squad. They do have some guys that hit LH pitching well, which depresses his value a bit, along with the fact that his strike outs have not been impressive (6.70 K/9 rate). He does make a decent GPP play where cheap. Rating = 6
Salaries: $6200 FD, $13050 DD, $8900 DK, $NA FF, $NA SS, $NA FTD
- Derek Holland – Holland made his first start of the year and looked great against a good Royals squad. He went 7 innings and allowed 1 earned run and had 6 strike outs. The fact that he went 7 innings is very surprising and the Rangers actually allowed him to 105 pitches. If Holland is cheap at your site, he makes a great play as the Mariners are 29th in the league in team wOBA against LH pitching. Rating = 6
Salaries: $7000 FD, $12950 DD, $8000 DK, $ FF, $ SS, $ FTD

Seattle
Kendrys Morales – He is dirt cheap and hitting cleanup in this lineup. He’s worth a GPP shot.
Additional Plays: Robinson Cano
Texas
Adrian Beltre – Beltre’s price continues to be playable and has a great matchup against a young lefty.
Additional Plays: Alex Rios (Check if in lineup)

Pitcher Grind Down
- Dallas Keuchel – Keuchel has been a solid pitcher all year for the struggling Astros. He has an overall 3.03 ERA and a 1.19 WHIP on the season. His strike out rate of 6.61 does not help his fantasy value much, and he is a big underdog today against the A’s. Keuchel has pitched well against Oakland (2.01 ERA in 3 starts), but is a GPP play only today. Rating = 6
Salaries: $7500 FD, $15650 DD, $8400 DK, $NA FF, $NA SS, $NA FTD
- Jason Hammel – Hammels looks to have finally figured it out in Oakland and is coming off two great starts against Seattle and Houston. He allowed 2 earned runs combined in 15 innings in these two starts as well as striking out 11 batters. He now gets to face this Houston squad again and should be in position to dominate as a big favorite in a game with a 7’ total. He makes a great mid-tiered option today. Rating = 7
Salaries: $7000 FD, $14200 DD, $8200 DK, $ FF, $ SS, $ FTD
Batter Grind Down
Houston
Chris Carter – Another guy that is just red hot gets a mention here. He has been one of the best power hitters in the league in the last month and has 3 bombs in his last 3 games.
Additional Plays: Jason Castro
Oakland
Derek Norris – I put him in this spot over Donaldson just because he is so cheap and makes a great “punt” catcher who should be in the clean up spot today.
Additional Plays: Josh Donaldson

Pitcher Grind Down
- Trevor Cahill – Cahill’s streak of decent starts came to an end against this same Dodgers squad 2 starts ago where they beat him up for 8 runs (6 earned) in 3.1 innings. Cahill is someone who is not a fantasy starter as his 5.06 ERA and very high 1.61 WHIP takes away any value he has. Avoid him today. Rating = 4
Salaries: $5600 FD, $9750 DD, $6000 DK, $NA FF, $NA SS, $NA FTD
- Zack Greinke – Grienke’s start was pushed back to today and he has now had 8 days of rest. Just when people felt like something was wrong with him, he came out and struck out 8 in 8 innings against the Padres. He now has another great matchup against the Dbacks who have been dominated by much worse pitchers recently. Grienke makes for a top play today as he should be in line for the win with Cahill pitching and has a great 9.51 K/9 rate on the year. I am not afraid to use him in cash games and GPPs today. Rating = 9
Salaries: $9900 FD, $19100 DD, $11200 DK, $ FF, $ SS, $ FTD

Avoid the Zona bats today.
LA Dodgers
Dee Gordon – He makes the best cash game second base play at FD today as he is cheap and has been playing very well over the last week or so. He is coming off a great performance last night and should be on base and swipe a few against Cahill today.
Additional Plays: Adrian Gonzalez Hanley Ramirez Yasiel Puig Carl Crawford

Pitcher Grind Down
- Tyson Ross – Ross- Ross has been unbelievable this year with a 2.60 ERA and 1.17 WHIP. It is too bad that he has to take his skills into Coors today as he should be avoided unless you want to take a long shot GPP play. Rating = 4
Salaries: $9000 FD, $17700 DD, $10000 DK, $NA FF, $NA SS, $NA FTD
- Franklin Morales – Morales – Morales has not been good this year and even with the great matchup with the Padres, he should be avoided. Rating = 2
Salaries: $5000 FD, $9850 DD, $4900 DK, $ FF, $ SS, $ FTD
Batter Grind Down
San Diego
Jedd Gyorko – The Padres bats showed yesterday that they can put up a few runs. Now they have a matchup against Morales who allows righties to a wOBA of .403. Gyorko is batting in the cleanup spot recently and makes a great GPP play.
Additional Plays: Yangervis Solarte Tommy Medica Yasmani Grandal
Colorado
Corey Dickerson – Dickerson is always in play against a righty in Coors. He mashes them for a wOBA of .417 on the year and even the tough matchup against Ross should not deter a GPP mention.
Additional Plays: Charlie Blackmon Justin Morneau

Pitcher Grind Down
- Tim Hudson – Hudson has tailed off a bit from his very good start to the year. Even with some struggles here and there, he still has a 3.08 ERA and 1.19 WHIP on the year. The problem with Hudson is that he brings a very low K rate of 5.79 K/9 to the table. He also has a very tough matchup against the Tigers and there are much better options at his price point today. Rating = 5
Salaries: $7000 FD, $15500 DD, $7500 DK, $NA FF, $NA SS, $NA FTD
- Kyle Lobstein – Lobstein has now made 3 starts for the Tigers and has allowed 6 earned runs in 18 innings pitched. He was striking out nobody in his first two starts and then came back to K 10 batters in his most recent start against the Indians. He makes a long shot GPP play if his strike outs continue, but I wouldn’t risk it today. Rating = 4
Salaries: $6000 FD, $8750 DD, $6500 DK, $ FF, $ SS, $ FTD

San Francisco
Buster Posey – Posey is the easy play for top catcher today. He gets the L/R matchup we love and has been ridiculously hot hitting over .600 with 5 extra base hits in the last week.
Additional Plays: Hunter Pence Pablo Sandoval
Detroit
Miguel Cabrera – Not that he every struggled this year, but he was never the Miggy we know and love. He seems to be finding that World Class form as he has 4 bombs in the last week, while hitting .500. Jump on the train for the rest of the season I hope.
Additional Plays: Victor Martinez Torii Hunter
