Atlanta
This game has the highest over/under of the night and the most fantasy potential. The Hawks have picked up their pace of play and have a few surprise players that are playing well. DeMarre Carroll has done a nice job filling in for Josh Smith and should be played if he is still close to minimum salary.
Players to Target
- Jeff Teague – The Lakers are going to be near the bottom against opposing PG’s this season. Not only do they play at a quick pace which helps opposing PG’s push the ball against them, but Nash is one of the worst defenders in the league. I really like the matchup and upside for Teague.
- Al Horford – Horford is averaging 16 and 10 and hasn’t missed a beat without Josh Smith playing next to him. He has great matchup tonight against the Lakers who play the famous D’Antoni defense (giving up easy buckets and pushing the ball). A 20 and 12 performance isn’t a stretch at all.
L.A.Lakers
The Lakers are near the top of the league as far as pace is concerned. They are going to score a lot of points and give up a lot of points. That’s great for fantasy.
Players to Target
- Pau Gasol – Gasol hasn’t topped 30 minutes yet this season, but that has more to do with how the first 3 games went than it does D’Antoni’s rotation. He should have a season high in minutes tonight and has a great chance to top 35 fantasy points.
- Xavier Henry – Henry gets the start at SF tonight. Let’s see what he can do.
