Orlando

Orlando is 6-12 on the year and have not been good at winning games, but have produced a few real nice fantasy outings. They allow 100.6 points per game this year and should be in store for a face paced game against the Suns today. The total is high at 206 today.

Elite Plays

Nikola Vucevic – There are a few very good center plays today, but Vucevic appears to have the best matchup of them all. He should dominate the inside defense of the Suns and put up one of his 15/15 games.

Secondary Plays

Tobias Harris – Before the injury, Harris was going crazy on the boards as well as scoring 17+ points in each of his 5 previous games. He has not gotten a full minute allotment yet, and if they happens today, I think he can bounce back to a 35+ FD point game.

Phoenix

Phoenix has been great for fantasy, especially with Thomas out of the lineup. His absence has given way to a clear 3 headed monster of Dragic, Bledsoe and Green. There is no news at the time of his status, but that will make a huge impact on guys like Bledsoe. The blowout is a bit of a scare here as the Suns are 10’ point favorites.

Elite Plays

Markieff Morris – We have to start believing in the Kieff soon enough. He is very capable of huge games and has actually been pretty consistent as well this year.

Secondary Plays

Eric Bledsoe – If Isaiah is out, he makes an elite play today, but if Thomas is in, I have to bump his down here to the secondary plays, as I feel Bledsoe needs the minutes in order to put up the big games.

Minnesota

The Twolves were not projected to be a very good team when they were healthy. Now that guys like Rubio and Pek are out of the lineup, they are one of the bottom feeders of the league. Both guys are out again today, which does not bode well for their chances of winning, as they are the biggest underdogs on the board today.

Elite Plays

Corey Brewer – His price is just way to cheap (FD) to ignore, as he has put up over 20 FD points in each of his last 8 games. He does have a tough matchup against Batum, but the minutes are there and value should easily be hit.

Mo Williams – He is coming off his best game as a starter and now gets a matchup against Lilliard. He is my favorite value PG play of the day.

Secondary Plays

None

Portland

Portland is one of the best teams in the league and has a 12-4 record on the year. The problem here is the high prices of their star players and the 12’ point spread that they hold at the moment. With that said, the total is 213, which is the highest of the slate, so enough points could be scored prior to starters getting pulled.

Elite Plays

LaMarcus Aldridge – With the injuries to some of their big men, I do not know who will match up with Aldridge tonight. He should be able to do what he wants in the paint and a 45 FD point game looks easy tonight.

Secondary Plays

Damien Lillard – He is pricey and also a bit under the weather, which is why he is in the secondary plays section. He has been very consistent recently and should continue that today if he plays.

Toronto

Toronto will play their first game without their star DeMar DeRozan tonight and get a great matchup to do it in against the Lakers. DeRozan’s injury will open up a lot of shots and playing time to a few guys, which makes this game great for fantasy purposes. The total is set at 212 and the Raptors are just 6-point favorites on the road.

Elite Plays

Kyle Lowry – I think the DeRozan injury will put a lot more of the offensive pressure on Lowry. The guy is a triple double waiting to happen today against Jeremy Lin and the Lakers and I think he will have to bump up the 18 points per game he is currently averaging. He is my overall top PG option when factoring in price and matchup.

Louis Williams – He was already starting to make his mark in this lineup prior to the injury to DD. We don’t know if he will start or not, but regardless should see increased minutes today in a cake matchup. He is the top overall value of the day.

Secondary Plays

Amir Johnson – Not affected too much by the DD injury other than maybe a few extra shots. He is only going to play about 30 minutes per game, but is cheap at places across the industry. If he is cheap, he should be able to reach value in a great matchup against Boozer who has helped the Lakers out to the 28 ranked PF defense.

L.A. Lakers

Poor Kobe and the Lakers, or does Kobe like being able to throw it up 30 times a game? Whether that is the case or not, he has to shoulder the load for this outclassed Lakers squad each and every night. Vegas thinks this game should stay relatively close throughout, which boosts a few of the Lakers plays tonight.

Elite Plays

Kobe Bryant – Big total, close spread, means to me that Kobe will be relied upon to score about 30 real life points. If he is feeling it one of these nights, he will go for 45-50 sooner or later.

Secondary Plays

Jeremy Lin – Recently, Lin is playing a pretty good supporting role, as he has scored over 28 FD points in each of his last 4 games. He has a tough matchup against Lowry, but I could see him hitting value today as his confidence may be growing.
