The Basketball Diaries
What is up people! Now that NBA is in full swing, I think it’s time to unleash the monster inside me that just wants to get all creative. I just wanna write man! Anyways, instead of going with another article that gives out picks, I think it can sometimes be more beneficial to see a player’s roster and see how it is constructed. That’s the focus of this piece. I’ll show you my roster and also pick out an opponent’s roster and give my insight into some of the picks.
We have the best daily fantasy writers on the planet here on RG. So for a guy whose short on time or new to the game they can be beneficial to see another players suggested picks. However, to be perfectly honest, those aren’t the articles I like to read on a daily basis. I prefer the strategy sessions and trying to evolve my game by seeing what others are doing. Catching trends and riding them before the crowd can often times lead to a big season in DFS. Give a DFS player a fish, he eats for the day. Teach that player how to fish and he eats for a lifetime… until it’s time for Big Poppa Choppa to eat.
Overlapping Players
Chris Paul
Victor Oladipo
Maurice Harkless
Nikola Vucevic
- I had Oladipo on all my teams on all sites last night as did everyone else in the industry. No shocker there.
- I also targeted CP3 to have a big game against the Rockets, but he disappointed. His price is starting to climb back up on Fanduel and he may be priced out soon.
The Separators
Ishmael Smith vs. Jeff Teague
James Harden vs. Monta Ellis
DeMarre Carroll vs. Kevin Durant
Tobias Harris vs. Kris Humphries
Thaddeus Young vs. Elton Brand
- He made a solid cash game move and made room for Durant against a weak opponent. I was scared of the blowout that never happened and he got a huge game for Durantula. I chose Carroll because he’s been really good without Millsap and this was going to be the easiest game for him of the 3 that Millsap has been out.
- Tobias was an easy play for me in this track meet with the 76er’s but he was a disappointment to say the least. After I read Olynyk was out, Humphries rose in my rankings quick. Unlike Condia, I couldn’t take him though because of the lack of flexibility on Fanduel. I was locked into Thad and Tobias.
- Thad came back down to earth, but I couldn’t pass on another potential 50 point game from him. Now we know he’s human and we can adjust accordingly. Condia’s Elton Brand play was so solid. I was washed away in all my Mike Scott love that Brand slipped under my radar.
- In hindsight, the bust of the night for me was Harden. Condia played Ellis, and I usually love Ellis. I just wanted to get Harden on there because he’s been sizzling and I thought this game would be a track meet. I could see another 50 spot out of James Harden and Ellis has been lacking something in his offensive game recently, so I thought Harden was the more “sure thing”. That backfired, big time.
