Vegas Trip Recap + Big Events Breakdown NFL Week 1
Wow, what a weekend. Tens of thousands of dollars in freerolls, hundreds of thousands of dollars in GPPs, and a wild RotoGrinders NFL Kickoff Party in the city of sin. It was a lot to wrap your head around but have no fear, that’s what we are here for. This article includes stories, images, and freeroll breakdowns from the NFL Kickoff Party as well as a look at as many GPPs, Satellite Tournaments, and Freerolls as humanly possible from across the entire daily fantasy landscape. We have scoreboards, prize payouts and much more to keep you in the loop regarding the start to the NFL Daily Fantasy Season.
The 2012 RotoGrinders NFL Kickoff Party in Las Vegas
The NFL kickoff party was a huge success as many of the top names in daily fantasy came out to Vegas to celebrate the beginning of the NFL season with us. Likely the coolest part of the entire weekend was putting faces to many of the daily fantasy legends who we consistently see taking down the GPPs and qualifier events, as well as winning huge amounts of money week-in and week-out. First things first, a big thank you to DailyJoust, DraftKings, FantasyFeud, FanDuel and StarStreet for sponsoring this event. They were incredible all weekend and the combination of site owners and DFS enthusiasts created an incredible atmosphere.

As everyone slowly poured in on Saturday, we headed over to East Side Pizza off of the strip for some real good pizza and plenty of beer. DailyJoust sponsored the whole thing and it was nothing but laughs and good times for the 4-5 hours we were there. We then took the buses back to the Monte Carlo where Riley had promised to go gambling with me then drunkenly ran away and wasn’t seen for the rest of the night. Most of us split off into groups to either check out the Las Vegas Strip or do some gambling at the Monte Carlo. I had a great time getting to know big-time Grinder Notorious as he tried to teach me the game of Craps. Meanwhile, Brad (Bowens1984) was apparently on a hot streak on another Craps table that yielded Cal some serious coin. As the night wound down we all headed to bed, fully prepared for pounding hangovers on Sunday morning.
Sunday was incredible as the room we had at Legasse Stadium was the perfect size and even had an awesome outdoor space to sit at and watch the games. The morning started off slow as groggy Grinders sauntered into the suite at Legasse Stadium, barely functioning from minimal sleep and significant headaches. What was really impressive was the daily fantasy brainpower that was in the room with us. We had a sign-up sheet for everyone as they came in and the list was stocked up with DFS heavy hitters. The 4 freerolls were the definition of a grind, pitting the best against the best for Week 1 supremacy.

NFL Week 1 Big Events Breakdown: GPPs, Freerolls and Satellite Qualifiers
There were SO many big events going on this weekend. Every single daily fantasy site upped the ante and brought the heat for the start of the NFL season. Leading up to Sunday, there was an unprecedented level of excitement around the daily fantasy industry. Hundreds of thousands of lineups were submitted(then tweaked a hundred times) and the best of the best really rose to the top in Week 1. The big name players brought their “A” game and showed that they are more than just a big bankroll.
What I have decided to do is put a chart together with each game and prize pool along with the winner and their final score. Similar to how we broke down the Week 1 NFL Promotions article, this one will be separated into freerolls, GPPs and satellite tournaments.
