In 2014, Mike “Hoop2410” Petta was able to quit his full-time job as an accountant in order to pursue Daily Fantasy as a full-time pro. He is a primary contributor to RotoGrinders, and you can hear more about his story in this interview on the RotoGrinders podcast. Each week, “Hoop” will bring you his exclusive picks for DraftKings to FantasyPros readers. Here are Hoops top WR & TE recommendations for Week 2.

WR

Dez Bryant ($7100) – I’m calling a bounce back for the Cowboy’s offense in week 2. Tony Romo has historically performed well when coming off a game of 3 INT’s or more. Dez Bryant is a very skilled WR and Romo will have no problem locating his number one option in Sunday’s week 2 matchup against the Titans. This game has a high O/U of 49 which is also a bonus.

Jordy Nelson ($6600) – Jordy Nelson received a whopping 14 targets week 1, and he hauled in nine of those for 83 yards. The NY Jets have a rather strong rush defense, but their pass defense is another story. Packers RB Eddy Lacy is a little banged up as well, which leads me to believe Rodgers will be airing it out quite a bit on Sunday. I’ll gladly take the guy that just received 14 targets a week ago, making Nelson is a very safe play week 2.

Kendall Wright ($5800) – All the hype this week appears to be around teammate Justin Hunter, however, Wright is the much safer play here. Wright had a very quiet 90+ catches last season. Dallas has an awful defense, and Locker and Wright will have no problem connecting on Sunday.

Value

Colts WR’s- (Wayne, Hilton, Nicks) – Take one, take all… at least one of these 3 WR’s will have a monster game this week against the Eagles. If you’re looking to play it safe, Reggie Wayne is the play. If you’re looking to gamble, TY Hilton is the play. Lastly, if you’re looking for value, Nicks is the play. The match-up against the fast paced Eagles will lead to extra possessions for the Colts, which in turn will equal more points.

GPP

Julio Jones ($7500)- The match-up is less than ideal against a solid Bengal’s defensive unit. However, I view Jones as a match-up proof player. He is versatile and capable of doing so many different things on the field. I will take the GPP upside regardless of the opponent.

TE

Rob Gronkowski ($6000) – The price point here seems too good to pass up. Gronk wasted no time in finding the end zone, as he and Brady connected week 1 against the Dolphins. Gronk only played 38 of 86 snaps; but this does not worry me. His snap percentages will only increase week to week, which leads me to believe that $6000 is the cheapest he will be all season long. This is a great week to buy low on Gronk.

Vernon Davis ($5700) – I wrote up Davis last week and I’m doing it again this week for same reasons. QB Colin Kaepernick loves targeting Davis in the red zone, which is something that DFS players love. Davis will not blow you away with his catch totals, but he does seem to make his catches at the most opportune times.

Value

Jason Witten ($3800) – I really hope my faith in the Cowboy’s offense does not come back to haunt me this week. At $3800, Jason Witten looks to be a very solid play. He seems to be the guy that Romo loves throwing the ball to when nothing else is working out. Last week nothing worked out for the Cowboys, therefore I expect Romo to look Witten’s way early and often.

GPP

Julius Thomas ($7100) – Thomas is the highest priced TE this week, which leads me to believe that most people will look Jimmy Graham or Gronk’s way at the TE position. We all saw last week what Julius Thomas is capable of doing and with Peyton Manning chucking him the ball, anything is possible.
