Fantasy Contests Available
DraftKings have posted their main GPP contest with a $20,000 USD pool for a $12 USD entry. The contest is a 58 max contest. DraftKings are now starting to post contests and salaries at earlier times which is fantastic to study for lineups. .
Lineup Building tip: Targeting defenders against Richmond has gone back over a season now making a really strong trend to target. Against the top three scoring opponent defenders they have conceded a whopping +7.5 fantasy points per game this season, which is the 2nd highest mark in the league.
Players of Interest
Lachlan Ash – D – $3,900
He is starting to build into form in recent weeks averaging over 50 fantasy points the last three weeks (56, 48, 51). At this price point in a single game slate that is more than enough. He also looks to be building more comfort at this level and confidence to take the game on. As we noted at the top this is a dream matchup for defenders and I will be pairing Ash with various other Giants backs (including the premium play in Lachie Whitfield).
Shai Bolton – F – $5,200
The ownership should be lower now after back to back subpar performances of 54 and 51. That said, he is playing through the middle (14 center bounce attendances last week, Tigers second highest) and in this role last year he showed a GPP winning ceiling (topping the 100 point mark). What has killed him the last two weeks is non-existent second halves after solid scores in the first. If this is a fitness issue it will surely snap at some point and Bolton will deliver a slate breaking score.
Sam Jacobs – R – $5,000
The Tigers have given up a ridiculous 11.9 points per game to the opponent’s number 1 Ruckman, which is the third highest mark in the league. Jacobs returns to be the number 1 ruckman after poor form led to Shane Mumford taking his spot. Mumford is now injured so gets to prove his worth against the Tigers makeshift Ruck division. There’s not much here but Jacobs has a point to prove.
Lachie Whitfield – M/F – DK $7,900
While Whitfield is classed as a M/F on DraftKings he is more a D/F. Richmond have consistently been around the top for points given up to backs for over a season now. Furthermore, they don’t apply a defensive mindset to individual players as they haven’t tagged over their most recent premiership era. If Whitfield does not receive a tag his ceiling is the moon. Look to pair him up with plenty of other GWS defenders.
