The AFL continues Round 4 on Friday where two highly fancied teams square off. Premiership favorites Collingwood Magpies (2 Wins + 1 Draw) travel to Sydney to take on the Greater Western Sydney Giants (1 Win + 2 Losses). The action gets underway at 19:50 Australian Eastern Standard Time (05:50 ET). Collingwood are the new premiership favorites yet the Giants have key personnel returning to the side. Fantasy Contests Available

DraftKings have posted their main GPP contest with a $60,000 USD pool for a $10 USD entry. The contest is a 150 max contest. DraftKings are now starting to post contests and salaries at earlier times which is fantastic to grow the fantasy pools.

Quirky Fact – Brodie Grundy had a remarkable 73 Hit Outs against GWS in the Preliminary Final in 2019 on his way to a fantasy score of 164. Grundy received 5 Free Kicks and had 25 possessions in the game, yet GWS still won the game.

Lineup Building tip: While both teams can certainly score high amounts of fantasy points, there is already a trend that both teams are hard to score against. GWS have continued their 2019 trends of restricting fantasy scoring, especially through the midfield. Collingwood have joined the Giants in restricting scoring as you can see by our Points Against through 3 rounds of the season.

Players of Interest

Brodie Grundy – R – $8,200

Let’s call this an expensive square that needs to be filled. Grundy is very likely to destroy the incoming Giants veteran in Shane Mumford. Even if Sam Jacobs was going to keep his spot, there is no doubt Grundy will outscore whoever the Giants put out. Yes of course, injuries can occur and you want to be on the other side of the ledger if that happens but this is a scary fade.

Sam Taylor – D – $3,400

This one is a little obscure, so let me explain. Looking for the area to target and load in a value play at that position is not your typical DFS play in the AFL. It worked last week with Dylan Grimes (Richmond) against the Hawks and now we will try it with Taylor against the Pies. Pies are letting defenders rack up the possessions in defence and I will be pairing him with any number of Giants. Let’s hope they link up together as they work it around the back line to set up their attack.

Taylor Adams – M – $7,300

Adams was a super play before last rounds Saturday slate and whilst he only scored 75FP (2 goals + 19 possessions), owners will look to target Adams once again. Fellow midfielder Adam Treloar is still unavailable for team selection which allows Adams to play through the middle. GWS tagger Matt de Boer is likely to run with Pendlebury so look towards Adams to achieve three digit scoring.

Mason Cox – F – $3,400

We can’t forget about our pioneering product from Oklahoma State! Cox who is 6’10 has had an amazing journey with Collingwood over his short career and now returns to the side from a knee injury. Talk from the Pies camp that Cox was playing well in training before the injury and is a key forward for the Pies. At this price point you could take a flyer on him, but Cox has a low floor with low upside. I wouldn’t be clicking on his name too often first up.
