Team Announcements

Final teams can be accessed via the League’s Website afl.com.au for this match and a reminder that confirmed starters are at 60 minutes before the match commences. Remarkably, the Swans are playing 3 Ruckman in this contest which is quite rare in this modern game. Here are the teams below.

Fantasy Contests Available

DraftKings have posted their main GPP contest with a $60,000 USD pool for a $10 USD entry. The contest is a 150 max contest. DraftKings are now starting to post contests and salaries at earlier times which is fantastic to grow the fantasy pools.

Quirky Fact – These teams are 2-all since the Dogs beat Swans in 2016 Grand Final. However the last time these two teams played at the SCG was in 2017. The last time these two teams played was Round 1 2019. Sydney outscored the Bulldogs in fantasy scoring but still lost the game.

Lineup Building tip: The first thing you will notice if you are familiar with these players or looking at the players projections is that Sydney players are on the cheaper side on DraftKings. It is quite easy to build 7-2 or even 8-1 stacks in Sydney’s favour, however, this is a coin flip match and you need to have the mindset of letting the value pass.

Players of Interest

Jake Lloyd – D – $8,000

The Dogs have given up the 2nd most fantasy points to opponents top 3 defenders through three games this year and Jake Lloyd is the uncontested King for possessions. The Bulldogs allowed their Round 3’s opponents (Giants) to rack up the possessions down back and only need to look at Aidan Corr’s 79 fantasy points to validate this decision. Lloyd is currently 2nd in the league for defenders in fantasy scoring.

Oliver Florent – M – $6,400

Florent is the man of the future at the Swans. He has fast become their most commonly used midfielder in the centre with 19 centre bounce attendance last week. His scores are naturally rising as well, averaging 77 points in the shortened quarters, with a season high of 90. The Bulldogs have given up the most uncontested possessions in the league this year and Florent feasts on these averaging over 14 per game.

Louis Butler – D – $2,700

The 18-yo speedy defender will play his first game for the Dogs after being a late draft pick in the 2019 draft. Butler was a standout for his junior team in the Sandringham Dragons and impressed the coaches so much over the pre-season to get his 1st start. Any new player under $3,000 needs to be considered in single game formats as this will allow salary savings.

Tom Papley – F – $5,700

With a large number of Dual Position Players (DPP) in the forward spot, you will find the stand alone Forwards with minimal ownership. Papley leads the Swans goal kicking tally (along with Issac Heeney) and has pushed through half-forward at stoppages. With the Bulldogs 6th on season in fantasy scoring against in the position then Papley is a great GPP play.

Jack Macrae – M – $8,600

Macrae is another player likely to see a boost from the Dunkley injury. So far since the return of games post COVID-19 he played a significant portion of time on the wing to cover the loss of fellow Midfielder Lachie Hunter to suspension. Last season he spent most of his time in the middle and averaged a massive 115 points. If coach Luke Beveridge lets him get back to that role, he could easily pay off the massive price tag.
