Bengals vs. Chargers – NFL Player Props
- Justin Herbert Over/Under 242.5 Passing Yards
- Mike Gesicki Over/Under 29.5 Receiving Yards
- Quentin Johnston Over/Under 44.5 Receiving Yards
Justin Herbert OVER 242.5 Passing Yards (-113, Bally)
During the first 4 weeks of the season, Justin Herbert averaged 144.5 passing yards per game and never attempted more than 27 passes. Since that point, the Chargers have gone from 25th in neutral pass rate to 5th in neutral pass rate. Herbert is averaging 262.2 passing yards per game in that stretch. Tonight, he gets a favorable matchup against a Cincinnati defense that has struggled mightily this season, ranking 27th out of 32 teams in DVOA. Herbert could be in for another big day.
Mike Gesicki UNDER 29.5 Receiving Yards (-114, Bally)
In the 5 games that Tee Higgins has been active this season, Mike Gesicki has only 9 total targets for 71 receiving yards. Gesicki is highly unlikely to see anywhere near the volume of opportunity that he has seen during the last 3 weeks with Higgins out. This market number is high because Gesicki has 203 receiving yards since Week 8, but Cincinnati runs a fundamentally different offense when Higgins is active. This could be an easy under.
Quentin Johnston UNDER 44.5 Receiving Yards (-115, DraftKings)
Quentin Johnston has gone over this market number in only 2 games so far this season. Johnston had 51 receiving yards against the hapless Carolina Panthers in Week 2 and took advantage of an injury-plagued Cleveland Browns defense in Week 9, but he has otherwise been relatively unproductive in 2024. This is a good matchup for Chargers’ pass catchers, but Johnston has simply been too unreliable to justify taking an over at this number.
