NBA Player Props, January 8, 2023

Trae Young o25.5 points (-125)

According to props.cash, Trae Young has eclipsed this number in seven of his last nine games. In that span, he has five games with 22 shot attempts or more, proving to bettors that he has the potential for elite volume on any given night. On Sunday, Young draws a tough matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers, but the potential absence of Paul George could make this matchup slightly less intimidating than the advanced metrics suggest. Simply, Young’s volume is too high on a consistent basis for this market number to be so low. On the season, Young is averaging 27.4 points per game – expect him to be heavily involved again in this spot.

Tyrese Haliburton o20.5 points (-115)

During the month of December, Tyrese Haliburton averaged 23.1 points per game. In three games to begin the new calendar year, Haliburton has yet to score more than 16 points, but it has not been due to a lack of involvement in the offense. In those three contests, Haliburton has attempted 15, 14, and 15 shot attempts, but has been uncharacteristically inefficient from the floor in that span. On Sunday, he gets a favorable matchup against the Charlotte Hornets – a team that ranks 25th in defensive efficiency across the last month of action. Haliburton will have a great opportunity to cash the over for bettors on Sunday in a competitive game script.

Bojan Bogdanovic o20.5 points (-118)

On the season, Bojan Bogdanovic is averaging 21.0 points per game. Entering play, he has scored 20 points or more in seven of his last eight games, meaning that he is likely to be competitive at this market number once again on Sunday. Though the Philadelphia 76ers are a formidable defensive opponent, the 76ers rank near league average in opponent three-point attempts per game, which should afford Bogdanovic ample opportunity from the perimeter in this matchup. In his last eight trips to the hardwood, Bogdanovic has attempted 19 shots or more four times, and never less than 14 attempts. Ride his high volume again to close out the week.
