Big Events Breakdown Week 8: BeepImaJeep Takes Down Two DFFC Seats!
Another week of million dollar qualifiers is in the books and, as usual, there were several RotoGrinders members who showed up at the top of leaderboards across the industry. I’m sure everyone is aware by now, but Fanduel, Draftstreet and DraftKings are giving away $1,000,000 to the winner’s of their respective football championships, and another round of qualifiers kick off this Sunday. StarStreet is also providing their users with quite a treat, sending their finalists to the Playboy Mansion to compete for $250,000. Big prizes will continue to be up for grabs for weeks to come, but let’s take a look in the rearview mirror and review the big Week 8 winners… All RotoGrinders members will have their names bolded.
It was a big week in the Fanduel and Draftstreet Q’s for RotoGrinders, as PrimeTime420 (FFFC) and BeepImaJeep (2 DFFC seats) will be heading to Vegas to compete for a cool million. Hatorade, CSURAM88, Tommyg1979, oldowl and maxdalury also had notable finishes this weekend, so go ahead and dive into the Week 8 action!

Due to some big games from Brees, Ellington, Megatron, Dez and Kenny Stills, primetime420 edged out csuram88 for an FFFC seat and a trip to Vegas. Primetime had to sweat out MNF due to a few entries with Marshawn Lynch and the Seahawks D, but Beast Mode’s dud allowed him to breath a little easier later in the game. 3rd in the TPOY rankings and the #6 overall grinder, PrimeTime will be one of the best players competing for the million dollar top prize. Csuram88 was just a few points behind taking down the trip to Vegas himself, but he’ll have to settle for 2nd, 4th and 9th place finishes this week. CSU is 10th in the overall rankings and 7th in the NFL Grinder leaderboard. MrTuttle05, who holds down 10th place in the TPOY rankings, used a Megatron/Dez combination which led him to a 5th place finish. In sixth place is broncs4sb, who is currently ranked 237th in the overall rankings. Bluestem89 mini-stacked the DET/DAL game, good for an 8th place finish. He is 24th on the Monthly Grinder leaderboard and 34th in the overall rankings.

Primetime follows up winning the $109 Q with a 4th place finish in this one. The Brees-Stills combination really set him up well this weekend. Broncs4sb moves up from 7th (in the $109 Q) to 5th, and considering his name I’m kind of surprised to not see a single Bronco in his lineup. Tommyg1979 (148th in TPOY rankings, 441st in the overall rankings) finished ninth thanks to a Rodgers/Nelson combo mixed with some Megatron. Most of you know probably know Tommy G from the Grinders Live shows, and if you aren’t watching them you are missing out on some great information. A nice show to listen to as you are building lineups.

Hatorade is back in the top-ten with a 5th place performance. His receiver trio of Dez Bryant, Jordy Nelson and Megatron set him up for a profitable weekend. Hatorade is 28th in the TPOY rankings and 180th on the overall leaderboard. Sadly, he was the only RG member to place in the top-ten.

Apa121 is relatively new to the Grinder community but his 2nd place finish should help pad his bankroll. This is his first month in DFS, and he finds himself at 447th on the Monthly Grinder leaderboard. In a tournament with 13,380 entries, he was the only RG member to finish the day in the top-ten.

A big congratulations to BeepImaJeep for taking down this qualifier in style, almost 15 points ahead of second place. A Stafford/Megatron combination in addition to Kaepernick, Ellington and Bush led to a very well-rounded day for him. BeepImaJeep (aka woopdeedoo) is 2nd in the TPOY rankings. Miggytoddbest followed in both 2nd and 3rd place, good for $6200. You’ve probably seen miggy posting in the forums, and he’s been backing up his talk this month, sitting in 45th on the Monthly Grinder leaderboard. Maxdalury was shooting for another DFFC seat after winning one last week, but finished just shy in fourth place. Max is 9th on both the overall and monthly leaderboards. Dinkpiece (8th in overall rankings, 6th on NFL Grinder leaderboard) followed in 5th place, and jae686 (45th on NFL Grinder leaderboard) put together an 8th place finish. Tommy G carried his success from Fanduel over to Draftstreet, rounding out the top-ten.

BeepImaJeep continues his dominance of the DFFC Q’s this weekend by taking down the $109. The same lineup which won him the first DFFC seat also gets the job done here. Hotdog642 was just four points away from the leader, but he settles for 2nd place and $3300. DillingerFour finished third, and he is currently ranked 550th on the overall leaderboard. Monds6 (18th in TPOY rankings) followed closely behind in fourth, while bluestem89 finished off the all RG top-five.

Stuie (aka dncolonna) hit the Marvin Jones lottery, leading to a third place finish. Safety14 was just a few points behind in fourth place, followed by BeepImaJeep in 6th place, who capped off his DS success for the weekend. Donnybasbl (72nd in overall rankings, 48th on NFL Grinder leaderboard) put together a 7th place finish, followed by hotdog642 with another DFFC Q top-ten finish. Golf Coach (56th on NFL Grinder leaderboard) makes an appearance in the top-ten for the second straight week, rounding out the Grinder community in 9th place.

TB8901 wins the FOC entry with a lot of help from the Stafford/Megatron combination that helped a lot of people this weekend. Ellington, McFadden and the Bengals D helped to set him apart. Dreazzy (aka duebby) is a constant in FF top-ten’s, so don’t be fooled by his place in the overall rankings (731st). He’s a sneaky good player who doesn’t seem to play much volume, but has been a fixture in the qualifiers. He put together the 2nd, 4th, 5th and 6th place entries in this contest. Superk444 finished 7th, followed by aveladespro (aka carolucy; 157th in overall rankings, 127th on NFL Grinder leaderboard) in 8th place. Emge, our 66th overall ranked grinder, finished 9th while enricopallazzo (526th on the Monthly leaderboard) rounds out the top-ten. Nine out of the top ten entries in this tournament belonged to RotoGrinders users.

The porn stache hit big with his GB and DET QB/WR combinations, leading to a first place finish and a PFFC entry. Best of luck to you at the Mansion… Tommy G was just six points away from taking down the qualifier himself, but at least he beat the bubble (4th place doesn’t get paid). PrimeTime finished 5th, followed by radthad954 (43rd in TPOY rankings, 86th on NFL Grinder leaderboard) in sixth. Shanksalot followed up his big week 7 with an eighth place finish, but an early exit from Michael Vick kept him from having a better performance. Westy (15th on NFL Grinder leaderboard, 27th on Monthly leaderboard) finished 9th, and Whiskeytavon4 (76th in overall rankings) rounds out the top-ten.

Congrats to oldowl for taking down the PFFC seat in a dominant fashion. Second place was more than 15 points away, as the only player under 15 points in his lineup was Terrance Williams, who happened to score 14.9 points. Oldowl (aka mmpr) is currently 236th in our overall rankings. Prestoaces (aka terribad) finished 4th thanks to some big numbers from a few Packers, followed by naapstermaan, our current TPOY leader, in 5th place. Tommy G finished 8th, followed by bluestem89 in 9th, and Tommy’s fellow Grinders Live host Al_Smizzle placed 10th. If you aren’t watching his Two-Minute Drill every day, you should be. Smizz is 5th in the TPOY rankings.

A big congratulations to The Vault (aka jpiening) for adding a cool 25 grand to his bankroll in addition to an FMGF seat. His lineup in this contest was a thing of beauty, he didn’t miss on anyone. Jpiening is 26th in our TPOY rankings. CSURAM88 finished a few points behind in 2nd, but I’d guess he’s still pleased with that. CSURAM is 5th on the Monthly leaderboard, 7th on the NFL Grinder leaderboard, and 10th in both the overall and TPOY rankings. Maxdalury (9th in both the overall rankings and Monthly leaderboard) managed to finish 4th in this tournament for the second straight week, as he continues to rack up FMGF entries. Enricopallazzo let a Dallas/Detroit mini-stack lead him to a 6th place finish, and his success across multiple sites this weekend makes me think he will improve on his current NFL Grinder ranking (570th). Cashanova (really great name, and 262nd in the TPOY rankings) finished 7th, and Traeko, our 99th ranked tournament player, rounds out the top-ten.
DraftDay’s Bracket Blitz Heating UP
This week features the “elite 8” in DraftDay’s $255 Bracket Blitz, a few of which are RG members. Both TheTakeOVER and kingspoint11 will be competing for spots in the Final Four this weekend. TheTakeOVER is 15th in our overall rankings in addition to occupying 20th place in the TPOY rankings. Both he and kingspoint11 (16th in TPOY rankings, 29th on NFL Grinder leaderboard) will square off with deeshen13 this weekend. If all goes well, we could see kingspoint and TheTakeOVER face off for a trip to the finals. In the $11 bracket, we still have a few weeks to go before we are down to the sweet 16. There is plenty of cash up for grabs in this one so good look to all the RG members in taking down the big dance!
