CBB DFS Slate Breakdown: December 29th

We are back with some decent contests despite NBA going on this Tuesday. The small ones have been filling, but the big ones have been slightly overlaying with a lot of big sports back, so I am hoping we can get a few of these mid-week contests to fill. Anyway, we have a nice 7 game slate here, so let us get into it.

Miami (64), Tempo: 67

A couple of weeks ago we were wondering if Miami would have enough players to field a team in a game, and now with Chris Lykes ($7,900) and Kameron McGusty ($4,700) seeming likely to play in this one based on a Larranaga report from a couple of days ago, we have a large minutes issue. It seems unlikely that guys like Elijah Olaniyi ($4,200) and Harlond Beverly ($4,900) are going to be dropped from the rotation completely, especially because Lykes and McGusty are probably only going to play a chunk of their regular allotted minutes. That means that we are going to get a team that is probably going to run 10 deep with only maybe Isaiah Wong ($8,300) and Anthony Walker ($6,600) playing big minutes. This is a horrible spot against a decent defensive team who plays a slow tempo, and you really need to be optimistic to give any of these players a chance at popping in the optimal. There are good spots on this slate – this is not one of them.
