CBB DFS Slate Breakdown: December 30th

Last night was finally a night where fading Garza ended up paying off, although you probably did OK if you played him and had most of the better value plays on the board. No Garza tonight, so we should be able to fit another couple of studs, but we have a long slate so let us get into it.

Virginia (66), Tempo: 60

The Cavaliers just got wrecked by Gonzaga, but we saw the re-emergence of Kihei Clark ($4,900) in the game as he took 14 shots and did pick up a few assists and rebounds as well. Clark is very cheap for a guy who is likely to play over 30 minutes as the main ball handler here. The model hates him, but I would look at previous game to determine where his actual usage is going to come from instead of early in the season. I think he is a nice play today and am kind of down on Sam Hauser ($6,800) overall. I think a better matchup is what Hauser needs, and while this matchup is fine, the tempo is where I get worried here. This is not a particularly fast slate, but 60 is extremely low and I am unlikely to spend up in this game environment. Jay Huff ($6,000) has some of the best rates in the country, but his minutes are never there, and he fouls, and Trey Murphy III ($6,200) has good rates, but you have to pay up to get him as well. I think Clark is the only guy that I really want, as there are no good projections in the model here.

Cash Viable: Kihei Clark
