CBB DFS Slate Breakdown: February 16th

We had a 7-game slate today that has turned into a 6-game slate with Auburn and Mississippi State moved. We do not often see slates this small on Tuesdays as it is generally a bigger day, but I appreciate the smaller slates as I think they are a little bit more strategic than the large 10 game ones. Let us get right into it.

Providence (63), Tempo: 63

I was surprised to see how poor Providence projected today when I looked – I thought maybe David Duke or Noah Horchler would be playable, but Duke is only 3.6x projection (top on the team) and Horchler is $8,000 (lol). Of the six games on the slate, three of them are over 70 possessions so using someone from here is just sacrificing 7 possessions, so the poor projections make sense. UConn has a pretty good defense to go along with their low tempo, and they could possibly get Bouknight back here, which would make it even more difficult for the Friars. It never feels great to completely X out a team on a six-game slate, but I think we can do that here even in GPP. The only guy I would consider is Duke in GPP but he has such a poor projection I do not even think it’s necessary.
