CBB DFS Slate Breakdown: February 17th

We have an eight-game slate on the docket tonight, and a lot of interesting positions. The team that is arguably in the best spot of the night in Tennessee possibly has no plays, and some teams like Wake Forest and Vanderbilt that we generally ignore completely also have plays. Let’s get right into it.

Syracuse (68), Tempo: 67

This is an ugly slate so I would not blame you if you thought of taking some players here from the Orange. Alan Griffin ($8,300) and Quincy Guerrier ($7,700) have been fantastic this season and we have even seen some improvements from Joe Girard ($6,600) and Buddy Boeheim ($5,800) lately. The problem is that Louisville is sitting here with an improving defense and a bottom 300 tempo and there just does not seem to be a lot of wiggle room for the Syracuse players. The good thing? Jim Boeheim is going to play the starters a TON of minutes, especially with Sidibe on the shelf for the season and they should have nice floors. The bad news? It is hard for me to really see slate breaking upside at these prices unless Syracuse somehow wins this game. Guerrier is the best projection here, and with a decent number of missed shots in this game should continue to score high as the is the best rebounder on the team. I also like Buddy as he has not been as active shooting threes lately, but Louisville allows a good percentage of their points to be from three. Griffin is just too expensive – I prefer Guerrier here, and Girard seems overpriced considering his role this year and the emergence of Kadary Richmond.
