We have a full slate here for the first four games. Usually I am not a big fan, but I have come around on it lately (more games, more fun), and I think having all 4 on the same day is actually going to be pretty cool. Anyway – we are so close to the NCAA tournament I can taste it! Let’s get into tonight.

Texas Southern (64), Tempo: 66

The tournament starts off here with a 16-team matchup that I do not believe a ton of people are going to be excited about except for those involved with these two universities. These are two of the worst teams in the NCAA tournament, but it is exciting because it is the start of something big. Texas Southern was a mainstay in the NCAA tournament under Mike Davis but this is the first time going under Johnny Jones. They got here on the back of Michael Weathers ($8,200) and Joirdon Karl Nicholas ($7,800) who dominated possessions for this team this year. Nicholas is the best rebounder on the team and has a decent block rate – he did not start out as a dominant player but worked to be that way over the course of the season. His projection is poor though and you probably just want to use Weathers who has a similar rebounding rate and is the alpha scorer for the team. Weathers is a transfer from Oklahoma State by way of Miami OH, and he has always been a chucker – he takes as many shots as possible.
