CBB DFS Slate Breakdown: March 19th

Welcome to the NCAA tournament! This is the best time of the year, and we have a ton to get into. This is one of the most interesting slates of the year. Generally, the idea is to fade the mid-major players against the top teams as they have played no teams as skilled as the top teams, but DraftKings has priced all these guys down so we at least have to consider them. Right now, the projections love the mid-major players, but I am much more down on them than the computer. Let’s get into it.

Virginia Tech (68), Tempo: 67

This is one of the games that I have no idea what to expect. I have not bet this game, and do not plan on betting it. Vegas has it as a coinflip as does KenPom and BartTorvik, and both teams have given us inconsistency this year. VT is dominated in usage by two guys – Keve Aluma ($8,500) and Justyn Mutts ($6,300), but Mutts’ usage dropped a little bit when Tyrece Radford ($6,000) returned from suspension. Mutts is, of course, fine in GPP, but using him in any small field seems bad because of his low floor. Aluma has the highest floor, but you are going to pay for him, and I prefer a few of the other spend up options on this slate.
