CBB DFS Slate Breakdown: Sweet 16, March 27th

Welcome to the Sweet 16. We have a lot of teams that we did not expect, which creates an interesting dynamic of games today. There is one game that is significantly worse than the other three, and one game that is significantly better than the other three and two in the middle. This should cause ownership to be spread pretty easily among what we would expect. Let’s get into it.

Oregon State (59), Tempo: 62

Loyola currently has the #1 efficiency defense in the nation, and that shows here with the 62 tempo and the 59 implied total for the Beavers. This is a rough spot for Oregon State, especially considering Ethan Thompson ($7,200) and Warith Alatishe ($6,700) both project poorly and have not seen a decrease in their prices. It’s really hard to advise taking Thompson over Buter/Mitchell/Moody even in GPPs – I do not even think that it is advisable to do that even in GPP, Thompson’s matchup is just so bad and we receive zero discount in his price. Alatishe is a little bit different as he can potentially get to value here through offensive rebounds and blocks and he is just a little bit cheaper, but Loyola is the #2 ranked defensive rebounding team in the nation so there might not be any way for him to succeed. Maurice Calloo ($3,900) is a very deep GPP look as well –
