Glean insight from one of the game’s best, Varncass, as he lists picks he’ll actually be targeting in his DFS games, along with detailed analysis and reasoning.

Final Four – April 4th

First, I want to start out by saying thank you all for reading and following along for the entire year. Hopefully it was a great year for everyone, and I hope that there are a slew of new college hoops DFS players ready to make their mark next year. With the industry growing like it is, who knows what the limits are going to be and I am going to venture to say we have a $100k first place prize in college hoops next year. It’s been a great year, and I cannot wait for it to start up again in November.

Kentucky

Trey Lyles ($6,000) – With a lot of these teams projected for around the same totals and pace, there is no targeting a certain team on a two-game slate. We are going to have to play for value and matchups, and Lyles gets the plus sign on both of them. He is going to be matched with Dekker, and while Dekker is a great player, Lyles has a bit of a strength advantage here and should be able to overpower Dekker in the post. I do not like Lyles’ price at $6,000 all that much, but he takes a lot of shots in the game and will be on the court as Kentucky really has to match Wisconsin’s height.

Willie Cauley-Stein ($6,700) – Cauley-Stein has 30-point upside because of blocks and steals, not because he is one of the better offensive players on the team. He has a ton of ways to put up fantasy points and I really like his price at $6,700, which allows a lot of room for some of the other solid players on the slate. He can guard any position and might get a lot of work drawing Kaminsky. There really is not much else to say – he will play a lot of the game and has high upside while being underpriced.
