Glean insight from one of the game’s best, Varncass, as he lists picks he’ll actually be targeting in his tournament games below, along with detailed analysis and reasoning.

Friday, December 5th

Four games today on FanDuel, and some awesome matchups for them as well. There should be lots of close games, and not one real game to target, although I will be mostly fading one of the four games leaving me with three to pick from. This should be the best Friday of the season games-wise, so definitely something to tune into tonight.

Providence

Primary Plays

LaDontae Henton – Henton has been a usage monster and one of the best players in the country early in the season. The lefty has a sweet stroke from everywhere and is a better rebounder than he has been doing. Kentucky keyed in on stopping him in their game, and when you only have one go-to scorer, it is pretty easy for Kentucky to take it away. Because of that, I am not worried about his low production last game and am going to be fighting to get him in my lineup. BC is much improved defensively, but still does not have anyone to match the Lansing, MI product.

Kris Dunn – Dunn’s price is extremely low here. He was not playing 100% against Kentucky but notes that he is feeling much better now. His price at 6,700 is a steal for the #2 option on a team with the skill that Dunn has at point guard. Hanlan is a solid defender, but Dunn should be able to impact the game in multiple ways here.

Secondary Plays

Carson Desrosiers – If you are looking for a cheap forward play here, Desrosiers might be your guy. He is not that skilled but has basic big man skills down low for Providence. He is not very involved in the offense either, however plays a good amount of minutes, picks up a lot of rebounds and also blocks some shots. He is and should be cheap but has a solid chance at reaching 20 points.

Boston College

Primary Plays

Olivier Hanlan – Hanlan is way too cheap on FanDuel for the quality of player that he is and his involvement in the offense. He is priced at 7,400 and almost a guarantee to hit 30 points tonight as he has one of the best assist rates, steal rates, and shot rates in the country. He will get all of the opportunities he can handle tonight.

Secondary Plays

Dennis Clifford – The big 7-1 foward is finally back for Boston College and working his way into playing more minutes. Clifford is extremely cheap at 5,100 and gives you a nice block rate and defensive rebounding rate, with some putbacks. The question here is how long can he stay on the floor? At his price, anything greater than 25 minutes is gravy.

Patrick Heckmann – Heckmann is very up and down, so I would only think of him in a GPP, however he is a good swing man for Jim Christian’s crew. If he can stay on the court, he contributes in rebounds and is actually a better shooter than Aaron Brown. He is a more consistent fantasy producer than brown and I would take him at 5,200 over Brown’s 6,000 any day.
