Monday, December 1st

Welcome to the calm before the conference vs. conference storm. During this week, we will get the major conferences to face off against each other in the “challenge” format and that means for us a fantastically nice slate of games to play college basketball DFS on. That is coming soon, however tonight the only thing we can play is the FanDuel slate of three with two of the Big 10/ACC challenge games, so lets get to it.

Rutgers at Clemson

Rutgers

Primary Plays

None – Rutgers is fresh off of a 26 point performance against Virginia. Yes, Virginia has one of the best defenses in the country, however Brad Brownell is also a defensive coach and knows what Virginia does to hold teams down. Clemson is not very good and is almost 10 point favorites here which should tell you all you need to know about Rutgers – they are not very good.

Secondary Plays

Kadeem Jack – Jack is a high-usage, stud that is the best play on Rutgers today. His price is still fairly cheap around 7,100, and he has 15 point 10 rebound upside even in a struggle. I would use caution as Rutgers should be the lowest scoring team today however.

Clemson

Primary Plays

Donte Grantham – Priced at 5,800, Grantham has hit 20 fantasy points in 4 of 6 games with decent games in the other two. Clemson spreads the ball around but Grantham is their most efficient offensive player. He is cheap and I like him more than Jack or Etou today as Clemson should roll Rutgers around.

Jaron Blossomgame – Just a bit above Grantham, Blossomgame is finally having a breakout year. Once a prized recruit, he is finally showing his upside with his rebounding skill and ability to get to the free throw line. Using both Grantham and Blossomgame is a bit of a risk considering Nnoko is still there to grab rebounds, but I like both at their prices. I would even consider Nnoko, although he is a bigger foul risk and relies a lot on blocks to get his value.

Secondary Plays

Rod Hall – Hall is sitting at 5,400 today after leaving last game with an injury. All reports are noting that he is not going to miss any time and should be on the court today. Assuming he is, he is a decent play for 5,400 however he does not take many shots and mainly runs the offense. He is riskier than the forwards but still could make value. If he does not play, Jordan Roper steps into the point guard role and should be a must play at 4,500.
