Glean insight from one of the game’s best, Varncass, as he lists picks he’ll actually be targeting in his tournament games below, along with detailed analysis and reasoning.

Monday, November 24th

We have a five-game slate on the docket today, however FanDuel has made the pricing incredibly soft today, so you should feel like you are rostering a bunch of studs in your lineup today. There are a couple of games to target, and Iowa State plays, which should immediately catch your eye. As of the writing of this, there are no GPPs up which might be good considering the amount of overlap the pricing is going to create tonight.

Update – FanDuel has added GPPs that start at 8:30 and changed the pricing. I have added some analysis which takes into account the new pricing, and does not include the ASU/Maryland game.

Arizona State

Prime Plays

Eric Jacobsen – Priced at 4,500, Jacobsen is really the only guy right now than Sendek trusts explicitly. He has played over 30 MPG in the last two games and put up over 30 fantasy points in each one. He is the only legit big man that gets minutes and he should hoard the rebounds. He also has a solid block rate, and it is not like Maryland has anyone to stop him today.

Secondary Plays

Shaquielle McKissic – Shaq is the one returning starter from last year who does about everything on the stat sheet. His 6 fantasy point game was an aberration, and not the norm and he should again post a 20-30 FP score today. I do not like him a ton because he is over 6,000 and there are a ton of min-priced guys today but McKissic should be a safe play.

Gerry Blakes and Willie Atwood – Both guys start for Sendek, Blakes at the point and Atwood down low, and are 3,000. Neither is too great of an option as they have not proved themselves to be fantasy assets, but any time you can get a guy getting 20-30 minutes as a starter for 3,000 you at least have to consider them. If the studs were a little bit higher priced, these guys would definitely find their way onto my roster, but I am not having any problem stacking up studs with other, better, value plays.

Maryland

Prime Plays

None

Secondary Plays

Jake Layman – I am not really sure what to make of Maryland’s players. They all are a bit underpriced, but it is going to be picking the right one that will be the key to success. I love Layman’s price at 5,900 as he is a long, tall wing who can shoot. He is able to put up a monster number especially without Smotrycz around and makes a safe bet tonight.

Dez Wells – Wells is again the leader of this team and has moved more to playing the 3 with Pack and Trimble on the roster. Wells is the best scorer and does a lot on the stat sheet. Wells’ last game where he only scored 14 fantasy points will not happen again, however his price at 7,300 is a little expensive in a position where you can only roster four guards tonight.

Richaud Pack and Romelo Trimble – Pack and Trimble are both new to Maryland this year, and while Pack sits at 3,500, Trimble is at 3,000. Both are starting and getting solid minutes with Pack getting the most and playing the most. I like Pack out of the two, but is is hard to argue with Trimble’s potential. I am not in love with any Maryland players as they are playing Arizona State who is extremely slow this year, but there is value to be had.
