CBB Grind Down: Round of 32 Day 1
Glean insight from one of the game’s best, Varncass, as he lists picks he’ll actually be targeting in his DFS games, along with detailed analysis and reasoning.

One more day in the books. Good luck to all left in the Survive the Madness, as I was 3 and 12 points from moving on in the entries I had left. My teams were derailed by Winston Shepard (a terrible pick in hindsight that was just a filler with remaining salary), but what can you do. We’re playing DFS, so it is another opportunity today and time to get back at the tournament.

UAB
Tosin Mehinti ($4,600) – Mehinti will still get time for UAB in this one against Parker and Looney in the UCLA frontcourt, and should produce a double-digit stat line. He is not one of my favorite plays of the day, but I still like him here as he gives you enough cap room to stack the Arkansas/North Carolina game later in the day. You could not get me to use William Lee at that price or Robert Brown at his inflated price, even after their solid game against Iowa State. This team is more of a fade for me than anything.
UCLA
Isaac Hamilton ($5,500) – I am expecting a good amount of overlap in this slate, and while the other UCLA guys have higher floors, Hamilton is going to be low owned and can separate you from the pack if he puts together a monster performance like he has a few times this year. UAB is no SMU defensively, so the last game should not matter that much, and while I would only use him as a GPP play, he makes a very interesting one. UAB played UCLA earlier this year, and while I am not taking much stock in the result of that game, it is still heartening to see that Hamilton was able to score 21 points in it.
