Glean insight from one of the game’s best, Varncass, as he lists picks he’ll actually be targeting in his tournament games below, along with detailed analysis and reasoning.

Xavier

Trevon Bluiett – I am not a big fan of Xavier today. The return of Whitehead could boost the spirits of the Pirates, and Xavier could have a tough time scoring in this game. That being said, Abell’s price is a bit low, as is Bluiett, but I would rather not use those guys in cash games because of other, more consistent options on FanDuel. Bluiett has 35-point upside, with 5-point downside if he does not play much of the game – that is why his price is low. He could carry you to victory in a GPP but could also derail all of your plans with how fickle the Xavier starting lineup has been. They spread the ball well and I am really not excited to use any of them.

Seton Hall

Angel Delgado – Xavier’s FG% defense has been pretty poor this year, and with their higher tempo, we should get some rebounding opportunities down low for Delgado. This game has a fairly high over/under, but with highly priced Gibbs, Mobley and Carrington’s price going up, and with the return of Whitehead, I am not excited to use any of the players here. Someone could go off, but I think they are overpriced, and with FanDuel removing Whitehead from the player pool (ugh) Delgado remains the best option.

Wisconsin at Iowa

Wisconsin

Frank Kaminsky – If you want a 30-point floor guy for your cash games, you really cannot go wrong with Kaminsky. He is always one of the best players on the slate, and even playing away at Iowa, should be able to score at will. With his size, he has block upside, and should be able to own the paint against Iowa, who could be without White today. I do not think he is one of the top plays, but he has a high floor and is a solid cash game play.

Iowa

None – This game is under 60 possessions, Iowa could be without White, and the Hawkeyes lost by over 30 in the game at Wisconsin. The only guy to prove himself without White was Gesell, who will most likely struggle today against Wisconsin’s sag and prevent drive defense. I just see no reason to risk it here against such a slow, defensive-minded team.
