Sunday, March 15

Happy Selection Sunday, folks! In a short time, we will have a bracket and the country will go nuts filling them out and figuring out how to skip work to watch the tournament. Today’s three games are not exactly the best fantasy-wise, and it likely will be a low scoring day, but there is money out there to be made, so here we go.

Arkansas

Alandise Harris ($4,800) – Harris is near minimum price here and starts for Arkansas. While he does not play a ton of minutes, he gets around 25-30 without foul trouble and should get a lot today against a tall Kentucky team against whom Arkansas needs his height. I generally like to fade teams playing Kentucky, but Arkansas can score the basketball and has an over/under near where the other teams are.

Rashad Madden ($6,700) – I would classify Madden as a GPP play. He has been terrible in Arkansas’ tournament games but he had foul trouble in the last game and his minutes have been down. He is the main PG for this Arkansas team and should play a large role in this one, especially if the Hogs are going to keep it close. Many people will be off him because of his struggles lately, but he could hit value even against Kentucky.

Kentucky

Willie Cauley-Stein ($6,500) – Cauley-Stein will be excited to play in this game and his salary is solid sitting there at $6,500. He averages 22 FPPG on the season and has all-five category upside. While he does not have an outside game, he is lauded as the best defensive player and the MVP for Kentucky. Arkansas continues to run an uptempo style even with Kentucky being much better than them, and that means a lot of guys could come close to value for Kentucky.

Karl-Anthony Towns ($8,300) – If you can afford the price here, Towns is a solid pick. I am certain his ownership will be lower because of the poor showing he had in the last game against Arkansas but he had foul trouble and just was not involved in the game very much. That does not mean he will have a poor game in this one, as he is one of Kentucky’s best players with many category upside and a double-double threat every time down the floor. He is a guy with 40-point upside cheaper than the other guys.
