CBB Grind Down: Thursday, November 20th
Glean insight from one of the game’s best, Varncass, as he lists picks he’ll actually be targeting in his tournament games below, along with detailed analysis and reasoning.
Thursday, November 20th
There are five games on the FanDuel slate tonight which is finally a bigger slate than the four games that we have been dealing with. A lot of compelling, close ones tonight so this should be a really fun night for fantasy and there should be some diversity in the lineups.

Texas
Prime Plays
Jonathan Holmes – Holmes is sitting there at 6,300 on FanDuel with solid games in his last two. He should be highly involved in the offense every night and even with Turner, Ibeh, Lammert and Ridley on the roster, he is still keeping his rebound rate high. Rick Barnes has been using a Mike Anderson type lineup, only playing guys max 25 minutes so far this year, but Holmes should get a good 25-30 in the first meaningful game.
Secondary Plays
Isaiah Taylor – Taylor is a little bit higher priced than I like however, I still like him for value today. He rebounds, assists and scores and looks to have made a huge jump at PG since his freshman year. As noted above, not a lot of guys have played extended minutes but I am expecting Barnes to shorten up his bench a little against Iowa, despite their high tempo. This game should be played with a lot of possessions due to Iowa’s speed and Taylor should benefit.
Myles Turner – The stud freshman has not started, but has played half the game both games and has done fairly well going for 15 and 6 and 10 and 7. I am expecting him to still get the run as he is a big part of this team but I really like him on FanDuel because of the blocks. It is only two games in but he is blocking shots at a 20.5% rate, 5th highest in the nation. If he keeps that up, despite his price, he should make value.
Iowa
Prime Plays
Jarrod Uthoff – I love Uthoff here at 5,900, he has not broke out yet this year but I expect he will soon and this could be the game. He is tall and is one of the best shooters on the team. He should be getting some extra run here as Fran McCaffrey is running the 10 deep bench like Anderson and Barnes. Uthoff has not rebounded well this year but they are going to need his size against the massive Texas frontcourt.
Secondary Plays
Aaron White – White has been a stud this year and definitely should be considered today. I think he will be extremely highly owned, but I will most likely be fading him today. He does a lot of work inside the paint and with the trees that Texas will be sending out there to defend him, I think he will struggle. White is the entire Iowa offense though and will get his points.
