Tuesday, December 30th

Welcome to conference season. FanDuel really should have put up some bigger tournaments, but we still have a lot of games today to choose from. Conference play will change the strategy a bit, as the teams with gaudy records who have played cupcakes will see their salaries drop as they play tougher teams. You really need to watch out for who might be overpriced, and look for the underperforming studs to put into your lineup. Conference play switches a lot of things around and sometimes there is solid money to be made in the transition.

Northwestern

Primary Plays

Tre Demps – Demps is way too cheap here on FanDuel today at 5,900. Make sure Cobb continues to be out and will not take his minutes, but it should not be too much of a concern for Demps. His usage rate is ridiculous with Cobb out and he should continue being almost the entire Northwestern offense. Rutgers is more of a medium pace team, so he gets a tempo boost as well.

Bryant McIntosh – I would not recommend taking two Northwestern guards especially in a lineup that only allows you to take four guards, but McIntosh is just as good of a value as Demps. McIntosh is not tied to Cobb’s value so makes a safer play, although I think Demps’ upside is higher. McIntosh will do more assisting while Demps will do more scoring.

Secondary Plays

None – Olah is a decent play, but he is expensive, and I cannot see taking two Northwestern players in one game assuming you are using one of McIntosh or Demps.

Rutgers

Primary Plays

None – There are only 20 teams in the entireity of Division 1 that play slower basketball than Northwestern. The Wildcats hve a decent defense as well, making it extremely hard to score on them. Rutgers has been playing higher tempo games and I am fading them today.

Secondary Plays

None – Bishop Daniels is min salary and gets about 20 minutes of run, but I just do not like anyone here. Rutgers will struggle to break 60 and this is not where I want to spend.
