Tuesday, February 10th

We have a very interesting slate tonight. There are a lot of really slow defensive teams playing and not a ton of high over/unders. This could end up leading to some much higher scores on Wednesday and Thursday, but fielding a solid team all around is going to be imperative. Kentucky should be one of the more interesting plays tonight, as I actually think their players are in play.

Notre Dame at Clemson

Notre Dame

None – Not here and not against Clemson can I recommend Notre Dame guys. They are fresh of being demolished against Duke, their prices did not drop, and Clemson continues to hold teams under 60 regularly. Notre Dame has one of the most efficient offenses in the country, so the Clemson defense could struggle, but I see no reason to risk it here for guys like Connaughton, Auguste, Jackson and Grant, who have not been close to value lately.

Clemson

Jordan Roper – Since Roper joined the starting lineup, he has been great for Clemson. He has the highest shot percentage on the team, with the highest assist rate as well. He continues to make value at his price at $5,500, which is fairly low for the number of minutes he is playing. Notre Dame is not a fast team but they are by no means defensive specialists, so Roper should be able to put the ball in the bucket a few times today. There is not a lot I like from this one, but Roper should be solid tonight.

Memphis at East Carolina

Memphis

Shaq Goodwin – Goodwin seems to be almost a must play for me today. With no Nichols, he is going to have to play as many minutes in the post as he can. He ended up with 23 rebounds in the last game and 41 fantasy points and his salary is stuck at $5,800 here, which is way too low for his minutes and opportunities. ECU is a miserable defensive and rebounding team, which is where Goodwin has struggled this year, so his matchup could not be better.

Kedren Johnson – Like I expected, Kedren has won the starting PG job for Memphis. It is always hard to judge who is going to get the minutes, but I think Johnson is locked into around 30 each game, especially with no Nichols tonight. He is cheap, and against a terrible defensive team in ECU I see no reason why he should not approach or shatter his value easily in this game.

Trahson Burrell – Nichols’ absence is going to cause some extra time for Burrell and Godfrey. Godfrey is the cheaper play, but Burrell is the more dependable one, as he has been better lately. The problem with him is that he continually ends up in Josh Pastner’s doghouse, and while he is probably the most talented player left on the team, he is the most risky. His price is there to reflect the risk part of it and in this matchup for Memphis on this slate, I do not mind 2-3 Memphis guys.

East Carolina

BJ Tyson – It is really hard for me to find anyone dependable on East Carolina to use. Tyson does not start and only plays 25 minutes per game, but he does take the most shots on the team and has the best tempo free stats. He is also the most expensive guy because he is the most fantasy relevant. Tyson is the one guy I would want if taking someone, as I really like the uptempo matchup for the Pirates here.
