Wednesday, January 28th

Last night could have been the strangest night in college basketball all year, as almost every single player failed to make value all in the same night. Cashing scores were some of the lowest that I have ever seen for such a large slate. There are a ton of good matchups tonight, so I can guarantee we will see higher scores for this slate.

Minnesota at Penn State

Minnesota

Andre Hollins – It is hard to argue with what Hollins has done in the last few games. He has been over 35 fantasy points in three straight and does not have a terrible matchup either today against Penn State. His salary has only increased to $6,800 which is still way too low and he can provide solid upside at the guard position without sacrificing salary. Penn State is not a good defensive team and this should be close down the stretch.

Penn State

D.J. Newbill – I love the dueling guards here in this game as Minnesota is a quick tempo team against an average tempo team in Penn State. Newbill does everything for the Lions and plays almost the entire game. I am not worried about turnovers as he has one of the lowest turnover rates in the country and he should provide value today. I have no problem putting them both in as we could have a really nice guard battle in this game.

Seton Hall at Marquette

Seton Hall

Angel Delgado – Delgado’s price has increased, but he is still solid against poor defensive interior teams and that is what Marquette is. Even with Fischer, Marquette’s interior defense has continued to give up easy baskets in the paint which bodes well for Delgado. I believe he will be more of a contrarian play because with all of the great matchups today, it will be hard to fit him in. This is not a great game to target despite having a couple of the better options.

Marquette

None – Even at home, Marquette’s only consistent option seems to be Matt Carlino these days. With Carlino reliant almost solely on the three, Seton Hall’s top ranked three-point defense is not a good matchup and I typically do not target guys in bad matchups.
