CBB Slate Breakdown: January 16th

I really thought that DraftKings would post a few bigger contests now that CFB is over, but we still have some very small Saturday contests. I think that we need NFL to be over for them to try on Saturday’s, so until then I will go a bit less in depth for more of a quick hitter. Trying to balance time investment with contest sizes is the key here. We have 10 games to get to, so let us get into it.

North Carolina (71), Tempo: 71

It appears that Roy Williams is done experimenting with his starters and has entered Caleb Love ($4,600) and Garrison Brooks ($7,400) back in there. It worked against Syracuse as North Carolina played well, and Brooks was his old self in that game. If he can continue to get 33 minutes, and I see no reason why he should not; he will project well and be a pretty solid play. The problem here is that Florida State always has a good interior defense, and they are giving up almost no points on the interior. I think Brooks is a nice GPP play, but there are plenty of spots on this slate. Love feels cheap, but it’s not like he played 30 minutes in the last game and his offensive game is just horrible. He continues to miss almost every shot he is taking, and I am done rostering him on his supposed “talent” alone. Day’Ron Sharpe ($6,600) struggled with fouls in the last game – he got two instantly off the bench and essentially played only one half against Syracuse. He still managed an OK fantasy total in one half so you cannot ignore him completely, but he is GPP only. Leaky Black ($6,200) and Armando Bacot ($5,600) are the same – GPP plays with big upside and a low floor. The whole team is that way. I am not sure that I can rationalize any of these guys in cash.
