CBB Slate Breakdown: January 2nd

Kind of disappointing to see the contests still so small here, but maybe they will increase once CFB is finished. Anyway, we have a nice 7 game slate here, so will try to balance coverage with speed on this slate.

Texas (67) at Kansas (70), Tempo: 69

Taking a slight gander at this slate right away, there are a LOT of good plays on it, and even though this game pits two of the better teams in the nation, they both have top 10 efficiency defenses an bottom third tempos. This is a spot that will attract almost no attention from me – DraftKings has priced Greg Brown all the way up at 8,500 now and knowing how Brown has struggled against real teams this season makes him not playable, and then the entire backcourt in Matt Coleman, Courtney Ramey and Andrew Jones is just lacking upside. Kansas’ defense is very solid, and Texas brings almost no good projections to the table.
