CFB DFS Breakdown: Week 11 - Saturday Late Slate

Washington (19) vs Arizona State -6 (25)

Washington

This game has me all kinds of excited but not in the ways I should be when considering fantasy purposes. With Head Coach Jimmy Lake suspended for this game and OC John Donovan was fired, it’s now the Bob Gregory show with receivers coach Junior Adams calling the plays for this game against Arizona State. What does that mean? Well, it means that the 5-star super stud freshman quarterback Sam Huard is splitting reps with Dylan Morris this week in practice. I also anticipate Washington will finally start to showcase their receivers for the first time this season since the receivers coach is calling the plays. There’s a lot to unpack and it will be difficult to predict how this game will flow. I will tell you that if Sam Huard gets the start for Washington, I’m going to strongly consider him as my second quarterback on a GPP lineup. He’s only $5,600 and has as much arm talent as anybody playing on this slate. Arizona State has been strong against the pass. There’s no denying it. They’ve only allowed 9 passing scores in 9 games this season. Washington is loaded with capable receivers like Jalen McMillian, Terrell Bynum, Rome Odunze and Cade Otton but we can’t really play any of them outside of GPPs as pairings with Huard. None are true target monsters and none of them get the majority share of those few targets available to them so far. With that said and going back to my original thought process, there will be more targets available in this game. My guess is that it will be either Jalen McMillan or Cade Otton as the biggest beneficiaries. Sean McGrew is back to being the lead back for the Huskies, but I’m not really that interested as the matchup is not good and the offense is in flux. Additionally, the Huskies only have an implied total of around 19 points. It’s best to avoid and just watch this game from a Washington fantasy perspective.
