CFB DFS DraftKings Main Slate Breakdown: Week 14

Using his experience as a former scout and staff member at Central Florida under Josh Heupel, Jordan Vanek takes an in-depth look at the upcoming CFB DFS main slate on DraftKings for Week 14. Formerly of The 33rd Team and 4for4 Fantasy Football, Jordan’s deep dive into the best stacks, running backs, and wide receivers is a must-read before you start building your lineups.
Week 14 feels like the real start of the playoffs, with teams fighting for those last few spots and others needing style points because apparently the “eye test” matters more than results on the field. I cannot believe Notre Dame is in over Miami right now, but this isn’t a rant about the playoff committee’s malpractice — this is a DFS breakdown to help you build winning lineups. I’ll walk you through the coverage data, matchup notes, and personal reads that shaped every take in this piece.
I expect some Saturday news to change the slate a bit, and those injuries/opt-outs will be captured in our CFB DFS projections and will be updated throughout Saturday’s slate. Our projections team will also be posting real-time updates in the RotoGrinders Discord and telling you what news came in to change the projection.
CFB DFS DraftKings Picks: Top Stacks, RBs, & WRs for Week 14

Oregon once again stands out as an elite man-coverage team, and if Denzel Boston is fully healthy, he’ll have chances on the perimeter — but he’ll need to win the same way Elijah Sarratt did, with timing routes like comebacks and back-shoulders. Rutgers is the other heavy man-coverage team, but they simply haven’t been able to guard anyone.
On the zone side, plenty of teams run it, but few run it like Pittsburgh. Their zone looks are paired with constant blitzing, and if Carson Beck can diagnose where the safeties are rotating, he should have a ton of success. But if we get the shaky version of Beck we’ve seen at times, he could also be completing passes straight to this Pitt defense.

Florida continues to be the one team in the country that lives in two-high shells, and it shows — six of their last eight opponents have run for 3 touchdowns, and the last 3 have all gone over 200 rushing yards. If you remove sack yardage, Florida has also allowed three straight opponents to average over 5.0 yards per carry.
Washington, on the other hand, is going to play a lot of single-high coverage and trust their defensive backs against this Oregon WR group. The key is health, because Dakorein Moore has averaged over 2.7 yards per route run vs single-high this year, and having him available is huge for the Ducks.
Cincinnati is the team that should be worried if they stick to heavy single-high — TCU has a true single-high killer in Eric McAlister, and that’s exactly the type of matchup he’s smashed in all season.
Game Stacks
Diego Pavia ($9,600, QB, Vanderbilt)
Tre Richardson ($5,200, WR, Vanderbilt)
Braylon Staley ($5,900, WR, Tennessee)
DeSean Bishop ($6,700, RB, Tennessee)

Vanderbilt needs style points to stay alive in the playoff race, and they’re also pushing Diego Pavia’s Heisman campaign — which means his legs will be a major part of the plan against Tennessee. The Volunteers have a clear flaw defending screen passes, and that’s where Tre Richardson comes in. Richardson is the primary screen option in this Vanderbilt offense, and Tennessee is tied for the most touchdowns allowed on screen passes this season (per SIS). Now, the main data is that they struggle to defend perimeter wide receivers, and Richardson is more efficient out wide than Junior Sherrill.

Tennessee has posted a 63% rush rate over the last 2 weeks, and the offense looks much closer to last year’s identity with Dylan Sampson — but the back they’re truly leaning on is DeSean Bishop. Bishop has averaged 111 total yards across his last 2 games and has scored 2+ touchdowns in 3 of his last 5. I expect Tennessee to stay run-heavy to control this game.
For full game stacks, the WR I want is Braylon Staley. He’s been Aguilar’s safety blanket and has recently taken over as the target share leader. I don’t mind double-stacking Aguilar, but the most likely path to Tennessee success still comes on the ground.
