CFB DFS DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey: Week 5 Picks
Who is your favorite player to spend up for in cash games?
headChopper: Charlie Becker (FD) / Keelon Russell (DK)
MrTuttle05: Demond Williams Jr. (FD) / Jeremiah Smith (DK)
stlcardinals84: Charlie Becker (FD) / Jeremiah Smith (DK)
Jordan Vanek: Beau Pribula (FD) / Cam Cook (DK)
How are you handling the top players (e.g. Jadan Baugh, Jeremiah Smith, etc.) now that their salaries match the production, making it harder to fit multiple studs?
headChopper: I have already alluded to it, but I will be underweight on the stars. It will probably not be a full-blown fade on both sites, but I find it hard to play these guys and still feel good about the rest of my team. At those salaries, it’s very difficult for one of them to do enough to bury you in tournaments, kind of like Smith did last week. But this week, it happens to come against a different type of defense that can mitigate some of that damage. Same for Baugh. Underweight for me, with some sprinkles of them in the large-field flagship GPPs.
MrTuttle05: While the studs may not be “underpriced,” there are plenty of cheaper value options on both main slates, making it easy enough to fit one of the studs into your lineups.
stlcardinals84: There is a two-fold issue here. The first one is mentioned within the question, as the salaries for Baugh and Smith are now sitting at premium levels. The second issue is that I don’t love the “punt” values nearly as much this week. There aren’t as many cheap wide receivers that I feel comfortable with compared to the last 3 weeks, and I’d rather go just a little cheaper with my starting points. As such, I will be underweight on the highest-priced options.
Jordan Vanek: There are so many cheap players I like that it makes getting up to the top options much easier. On DraftKings, my preference is Cam Cook, but on FanDuel, Jadan Baugh isn’t that difficult to fit with cheap options like Andrew Marsh and Vandrevius Jacobs. I know people will call me crazy for the Jacobs shout, but he had 141 yards and a touchdown against Clemson last season. With Joshua Moore out, I expect Miami to give Jacobs an opportunity here. On DraftKings, it’s much harder to fit Jeremiah Smith or Baugh, but with all the QBs in the $6,000 range I wrote about in my article, there are plenty of ways to make the salary work and get one of those studs into your lineup.
What is your favorite correlation and why?
