What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play this week? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
headChopper: I will mainly be playing in smaller-field GPPs with limited entries, but I will sprinkle in the flagship GPPs as well. The main way I’ll be different is that I don’t want any piece of that Texas Tech backfield, and I have a feeling one or both of those guys will gather some ownership. Also, I am looking to be underweight on the Notre Dame pass-catchers, as it looks like they will have a chalky player or two. Instead, I’m opting for leverage by playing more Texas Tech passing and more Notre Dame rushing (even Jadarian Price).
MrTuttle05: Large-field tournaments – Investing in some cheap value options that have ~1% pOWN%. We typically have some low-priced chalk options, but there aren’t many options below $4,000 on DraftKings that look like they’ll get ownership. This stands out as a good slate to get a little weird, especially in the sub-$4,000 range at WR.
stlcardinals84: I will be playing around 10 entries in the larger-field tournaments. I absolutely love going with balanced builds this week. I do not see a ton of studs that are mandatory to spend up on, with the exception of getting some exposure to Trinidad Chambliss on FD and Jeremiyah Love on DK. Outside of those two players, I can leave most of the other highest-priced players sitting on the board. Give me all of the midrange exposure, and I will be most overweight on Indiana on both sites and Clemson and Duke as additional teams on DK.
Jordan Vanek: I’ll be focusing on smaller-field, higher-stakes tournaments with limited entries. I love the Miami Hurricanes’ passing offense against SMU, and I’m really high on the cheap value wide receivers who are available. That combination lets me fit in multiple top-tier running backs, and Isaac Brown is the key to staying unique. He’s back to full strength, and while the field will lean toward J’Mari Taylor – who’s still a solid play – I think Brown’s matchup is far better.
Who is your favorite overall play when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc. and why?
