What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play this week? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

headChopper: I am playing large-field MME tournaments. I’m doing that – even though it’s counterintuitive on a small slate – because I think I can get different in subtle spots like over-stacking teams. Most lineups are going to fizzle out because a lot of these games don’t look great for fantasy appeal – but that’s exactly what I want if I’m stacking heavy. I just need one team or one game to go so far above everything else that it can’t be caught in tournaments. So unlike a large slate, I’m getting different by stacking teams and games to the maximum for this slate.

MrTuttle05: Large-field tournaments – I will spread out QB/WR exposure and have a more condensed RB player pool. I think all of the QBs on this slate are playable. The RB pool isn’t bad either, but the high end separates itself a bit more than at the QB position. At WR, you could see a lower-priced option work their way into the optimal lineup with a performance of ~10 fantasy points, so I’ll have spread out exposure there to guys like Jahmal Edrine, Max Klare, Lotzeir Brooks, etc.

stlcardinals84: I will be playing 3-5 entries in the larger-field tournaments, with a clear plan to be overweight on the Virginia offense. This team controls its own destiny for a playoff slot, and they have the best matchup of the 5 games against a Duke team that really shouldn’t have found their way into a conference title game. I will have exposure to Chandler Morris, J’Mari Taylor, and Trell Harris in a majority of my lineups.

Jordan Vanek: I’ll be playing large-field tournaments, and with only 5 games on the slate, the chalk is going to condense heavily. That makes the overlooked standout plays even more valuable. We’re also getting multiple dome games, which can completely change offensive efficiency – it reminds me of last season when PSU/ORE unexpectedly turned into a shootout despite a 51-point total. I’ll be building more lineups than usual, making sure each one tells a different story, and most of them will feature some form of over-stacked game environment.

What’s your hot take of the slate?
