CFB DFS Slate Breakdown: Week 1 (Friday)

We have already had a few solid games so far in this short season, so hopefully we keep it going this week. It’s been a bit of a difficult adjustment for me with a 3 month old so I am doing my best to be as effective as I can be – I hope to be full strength going forward for the main Saturday slates.

North Carolina (34.5)

It feels like we have been talking about Sam Howell ($8,400) forever, but he is only a Junior and could feasibly return next year, although it seems like he will probably end up in the NFL after this year. The question for the Tar Heels this year is not going to be at the QB position, but at the other positions here – No Javonte, no Michael Carter, no Dyami, no Dazz, so the offense in my opinion is likely to take a bit of a hit. We still have a nice implied total here, so Howell is by no means a terrible play, but he is not a slam dunk like we have seen on other slates. The thing that makes him one of the top QBs on the slate though is the fact that the other options are extremely lackluster. I am pretty neutral on Howell until we see how the rest of the offense is going to work.
