CFB Slate Breakdown: Bowl Games - Saturday, January 2nd

Happy New Year, Grinders! We have four bowl games on the Saturday slate, and here’s how I am approaching them for my DFS lineup builds.

DraftKings released the pricing for this slate nice and early, so I am writing these games up based on DK pricing. I will add some FD nuggets at the bottom of the article with some thoughts on pricing differences once they release their salaries.

Gator Bowl – NC State vs. Kentucky (-2.5)

NC State (23)

This is the least appealing game on the Saturday slate, as it has a total that is a full ten points lower than any of the other three games. We won’t spend too much time on this one, especially with N.C. State. Kentucky is not a great football team and has a horrible offense, but their defense is legitimate. Bailey Hockman ($6,500) has taken over the starting QB gig for the Wolfpack, and he did close the regular season with a pair of 300+ yard games. However, he has basically zero rushing yards for the season and is unlikely to do anything against a quality defense. Kentucky’s defense struggled with a few of the top tier SEC teams, but N.C. State is not of that caliber.
