CFB Slate Breakdown: Week 7 (Late Slate)

Boston College (23) vs NC State -3.5 (28)

Boston College

With Art Sikowski shelved, nothing on Boston College gets me excited. Sure one of the two running backs Pat Garwo or Travis Levy seem to find ways to be randomly relevant but the NC State rush defense is only allowing 92 total rushing yards a game. This isn’t one of those matchups where you tinker with a split backfield. QB Dennis Grosel just threw for 311 yards against Clemson, but that was his first 200+ yard performance of the season. You can’t even consider that a huge signal for better days ahead. In that game the two top pass-catching options for BC both saw their most targets – Trae Barry (8) and Zay Flowers (10). Flowers had 70 yards and Barry had 82. Neither scored. It’s just uninspiring to tell you the truth. Flowers isn’t cheap enough on DraftKings. Barry is, but he’s still a tight end without a proven track record of touchdowns or targets. I will say that if I were to dip into this Boston College offense it would be with either Zay Flowers or Trae Barry as a last piece to a GPP lineup.
