CFB Thursday Slate Breakdown - Week 1

Week 1 – Thursday Slate

Writing will never be my favorite part of touting. By the end of the year, I tend to start loathing it. But this is the year of the Corona! In the year of the Corona, we count our blessings. Friends, we are blessed to have mid-week college football! I missed you all and I missed having to research random FCS teams just as much.

We have one of those fun two-gamers for this Thursday slate. Whether you play this slate or not, we have a gorgeous, crazy slate on Saturday that you need to stay tuned with RotoGrinders to get your prep on point.

Let’s get back to our two-gamer. You have two double-digit home favorites with Southern Miss sitting at 13.5 points on South Alabama with a 53.5 total. Over in Birmingham, you have UAB as a 19.5 favorite over Central Arkansas with only a 48.5 point total. Starting with this UAB game, I don’t really understand it. Central Arkansas is working off of a short week having just played Austin Peay last Saturday. Sure they were a top 10 FCS team last year, but UAB had 9 wins last season. They return all of their running backs, their quarterback and three of their top four pass catchers from 2019.
