CheeseIsGood's Million Dollar Musings: Monday, May 31st

We’ve got an early start to the day with Memorial Day baseball beginning at 1:05 ET. In an attempt to get this out early enough to be useful, I’m going to be brief and to the point. I’ll also be on an early Crunchtime at 12:30 ET to go over any final thoughts on this slate.

The main slate today is nine games beginning at 1:05 pm ET and that is what we’ll focus on here. While both FD and DK have a nine-game slate, there’s an important difference in the two. The DK slate will include the first game of the White Sox-Indians double header, which likely brings an extra ace into the slate with Carlos Rodon. (Still unconfirmed as I’m writing this, as Rodon could also be pitching in Game 2, which would make him unavailable on this slate)

Corbin Burnes vs Detroit
Carlos Rodon at Cleveland (DK Only)

Corbin Burnes is just better than everyone else on almost any slate, and even more so on this slate. 74 strikeouts and five walks. Last week was his worst start of the season by far and it was still completely fine with seven strikeouts in six innings. His other seven starts have all come with at least nine strikeouts, and other than just plain old ‘anything can happen’, it’s silly not to play him anywhere and everywhere today.
