CheeseIsGood's Million Dollar Musings: Monday, September 27th
Happy Monday! We’ve got something close to a day off in MLB today with just five games sprinkled throughout the day. We get a 3-game early slate at 1:10pm ET and then a 2-game slate late into the night starting at 8:40pm. The evening slate is especially goofy with one of the games being in Coors Field, while the early slate is pitcher-less. Let’s just take a quick Cliff Notey look at what we have for today:
Early Slate Cliff Notes
There is no way to sugarcoat this pitching slate. It’s horrendous. The closest thing to an average real-life pitcher is Cal Quantrill, who at least is getting innings. His 2.82 ERA is fluky low with a 4.55 SIERA on below average 19.6% strikeouts, but he has gone over 90 pitches in 12 straight starts and over 100 in his last three, with six consecutive outings of at least six full innings. He’s overpriced for who he is, but so is everyone on this slate. He is my SP1.
