CheeseIsGood's Million Dollar Musings: Thursday, August 12th

Happy Thursday! We’ve got ourselves a strange and early day in MLB today. The main DK slate is an 8-gamer starting at 12:10pm ET. That’s barely even lunch time, but don’t worry, we can eat. FanDuel is running a 5-game slate also starting at that time, and then they also have a 4-game evening slate, while DK just has a few random chopped up slates after the big early slate. If all these slates weren’t weird enough already, both of the early slates have a Nationals-Mets game, but they are different games. What? The DK slate includes game 1, while the FD slate has game 2. I don’t know, happy 2021!

In order to get this out early enough to be relevant for the 12:10 start, I’m going to be straight to the point, and mostly just give you some lists and then cliff noted thoughts on pitchers and hitters. I will then be on an early Crunchtime with Blender at 11:30am ET to go over any final thoughts.

Early Slate Pitching

I see a very clear path for optimal builds today on DK, and then just a few decent pivots. I’ll sort out the difference between the sites in the Cliff Notes, here is the bird’s eye view:

An Ace And Some Good Real-Life Pitchers

Brandon Woodruff at Cubs
Chris Bassitt at Indians
John Means vs Tigers
Marcus Stroman vs Nationals
Tanner Houck vs Rays
Kyle Hendricks vs Brewers
J.T. Brubaker vs Cardinals
Eli Morgan vs A’s
