CheeseIsGood's Million Dollar Musings: Thursday, June 17th

Happy Thursday! We’ve got an interesting eight-game slate coming up tonight with a handful of upside pitchers, and Coors Field game that may or may not end up chalky due to the solid pitching, as well as a few other offenses with similarly high totals. Let’s jump into these pitchers and see what happens.

Thursday Night Pitching

We start out with three pitchers up above the 30% strikeout mark:

Brandon Woodruff at Rockies – 31.5% K, 5.5% BB, 1.52 ERA, 2.94 SIERA
Joe Musgrove vs Reds – 33.8% K, 4.9% BB, 2.50 ERA, 2.68 SIERA
Shohei Ohtani vs Tigers – 34% K, 14% BB, 2.85 ERA, 3.80 SIERA

I would be happy to argue that Woodruff is the best pitcher of this trio, and he’s at a talent level where I would be OK to play him in Coors Field. However, the pricing has pretty much made the decision for us. On DK, Woodruff is over $10K, while both Musgrove and Ohtani are under $9k. On FD, Woodruff and Ohtani and both almost $11K, while Musgrove is down at $8,500.
